Sound disappeared twice - help

Thread Starter
Hello overclockers,

Since yesterday evening, i have experienced some issues with sound and video playback quality twice - I noticed it while surfing in youtube video was lagging extremely and there was no sound at all.Restarting my PC solved the problem, but the second time it was gone suddenly again , then restarting my PC solved the problem again and no problems at the moment.

What could the broblem be ?

Special thanks for helpers

Have you update your sound or video drivers recently? If you did and then the problems started, then rollback. If not, go check the manufacturer website for the latest ones.

Also, you could try reinstalling/updating Flash.

Here's another question...

If the sound stops working in the flash player on Youtube, do you still have sound with your computer? Like can you play an MP3 or something and still have sound, just not on Youtube?

No , sound dissapeared even on files and videos , also no sound in games and immense lagging.

Look at this pic:

Did some more reading and it seems like sound messing up after waking up from sleep mode is a known bug with Windows 7.

Doesn't seem like there's any concrete solution to it besides disabling sleep mode...

I'll try and do some more digging but for now it seems like that'd be your best solution.

It probably has something to do with the driver's settings after waking it up from sleep. I had the same problem with my old mouse's drivers after waking it up from sleep/hibernation mode. I never found a fix unfortunately. My Realtek drivers never had this problem though.
