Did you QQ when CoD WaW came out on November the 11th as well?

Or CoD MW2 came out a day before November the 11th?

You are really pushing it man.
Oh, look, that was 10 years ago.

*Bangs head on desk*

Not even offensive in the slightest.

I voted no. Not that I don't care about what happened, but 9/11 will be the day to mourn, if you choose to do so. We don't need 2, 3 days or even a week to mourn...we've had 10 years. Once 9/11 passes, its time to move on with life again. Releasing it on the day...ok (maybe), but still there will be other games released then also and video games don't pertain to real life and are not related. Especially one with mutants and stuff.

Voted no, I could maybe see you're point if it was released on the day however. But two days after, yeah, not really seeing it.

I have a question though, with that logic, how far ahead of the day and how far after it would it be considered not offensive to you? Just curious. redface.gif

Lol this is stupid.

I'm sorry to any families effected by 9/11, but come on. Does 9/11 mean we can't do ANYTHING on that day, or within a week of it? Should we just halt any releases that's even near 9/11? What about pearl harbor?

Please just get over it. Stop making such a big deal out of things and just move on. These kinds of emotions is exactly how we make poor judgements.

For any anniversary I wouldn't see much of an issue with 3 or 4 days following it but I am assuming they will be making a bit of a bigger deal this year since its been a decade. I would suspect a week from 13th (following Tuesday) would avoid any unpleasantries all together.

You know how the advocacy groups get, they will find anything to complain about, and you know how crazy go nuts people got after September 11th when it came to laws.

I also seeing this being an issue for advocacy groups against violent games too... Thats the last thing I really want as well.

How long are you gonna mourn for each year? Why don't you mourn the Japanese who got nuked in WW2? Anniversaries of terrible events happen pretty much every day. Just because said terrible event happened within the last decade doesn't make it more mourn-worthy.

I don't mean to be insensitive, but how many days do you need for a buffer from 9/11 or any other tragedy?

Where would you draw the line? That's the thing, by blocking off days around an event, you set a very dangerous standard. This is a game...

Why aren't we mourning for them? Because they weren't American and it was 400+ years ago? Well, then this motive for mourning, and whatnot, comes completely biased and inconsistent point of view.

Basically, people place too much importance on 9/11. A larger group of people were killed, in other coutries, after the events of 9/11, yet no one mourns for them. It's a waste of time, energy, and has absolutely no productive value whatsoever.

Get on with your lives people, there are greater things to worry about.

War is war for starters. 9/11 was an act of pure cowardice. The Oklahoma City bombing is still a sore subject here and certain jokes about blowing up stuff just doesn't fly with some people.

We also have an issue with many groups who use stuff like this to get stricter restrictions on video gaming as it is. Having groups who scrutinized id Software the most in the past, I found it obviously eye catching. It was the first thing I noticed, even before the graphics.

I just don't understand why would you risk it, even if it doesn't offend a great deal of people (judging by how the poll is going is more than likely not going to) surely it could bother somebody.

Its not a huge deal to me, I am just surprised by id Software and ZeniMax had such a date planned out. I find it off putting and from a PR point of view somewhat risky.

I posted it above. I went back a few years, none of the Tuesdays have really fallen close to September 11th or they just didn't release very heavy titles of violence. They all appear to be fluffy titles around that time frame.

I think Reach was on September 14th though.
