Buying a used 13" MacBook Pro, need some advice!

It's the entry level mid 2010 MBP, 2.4Ghz C2D, 320M with 8GB of ram (apple installed, so under warranty) and a 500GB momentus XT hybrid drive he replaced himself.

Assuming it is in mint condition what would be best price i can reasonably hope for?

wait a few more weeks, the MBP line is expecting a refresh which will further drop the prices on the C2D based MBP

It was today actually, not crazy about the new 13" MBP's, was hoping they would up the resolution to 1440x900 and lose the optical drive for a better GPU.

Would rather get the old one at half price then get the new one.

I was only referring to the expected price drops on the older hardware due to the refresh. the older one's still feel more solid to me I would second the 700 offer then as well, or try to lowball it

Sometimes if you get lucky you can also find "broken" ones. A friend of mine got his for $200 (the one with the geforce 9400m). The problem? The harddrive wasn't being read properly, and a reinsertion later it worked

I'd say he got PARTICULARLY lucky, though, and he lacked the power adapter as well.

If your talking about the one in the FS section that is a great deal actually. The seller is including two cases as well and from the pictures it looks like it was well taken care of.

I would start with an offer of $700. I wouldn't go above $850 though.

What sort of warranty is left on it?

Also,
http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/20/m...-working-to-f/

so you can probably get the person to lower the price a few extra bucks due to that issue
