In SLI...

i can only run 800/1600/2100 @1.1v (second card not as good as a OCer)

but both cards

Top = 72 Deg C

Bottom = 63 Deg C

I have also done a tutorial of how to fit a EVGA backplate on it...

have a look in my sig..

i am also looking at how to modify the stock VRM sinks to work with the AXP cooler
I have modded a stock heatsink for my 470 to work with my AXP. If you need help, just let me know. It wasn't very difficult, if you have a dremel or other cutting tool. The best parts of doing this mod are the backplate fits without modification, the VRAM and VREG chips are all cooled very efficiently, and the card cannot warp or bend because the heatsink is designed to fit the PCB. I purchased a spare EVGA heatsink/fan for this mod (my card has a lifetime warranty, so sparing the original heatsink kept that intact).

I voted for & have the Zalman simply for space reasons. The AXP is long, specially if you have a 470, its longer than the card itself..

My Zalman handles the heat just fine. Fan at around 50 - 60% so its barely audible, running it at 825/1650/1750 @ 1100mV, temps barely break 60c at load..

My AXP is virtually silent and fits fine in my 800D. If I ramp up my front bay intake fan (which I usually don't, normally at 60% for a good mix of air & noise), it cools my 480 even more as more airflow over the backplate.

Is the ZALMAN VF3000F(GTX480) actually worth it? (cooling wise compared to stock) Now that I see it I would love after-market cooling for my 480!

It is absolutely worth it. Just realize it takes 3 slots.
