800d paint repair help

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I accidentally scratched the side of my 800d case the other day, and was wondering what would be a good way to restore the paint? I don't really want to repaint the whole case.

Has anyone used any paint that matches the finish of the 800d?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i imagine since it is powder coated that you will struggle finding an exact finish to fill the scratch.

It's powdercoated. What you will end up doing is stripping it with Aircraft stripper and finding a powder coater to recoat it.

Any pics of the scratch?

It's on the back side of the case. Maybe get a sheet of carbon fiber vinyl and just cover it up?

I would just leave it alone, possibly use a sharpie marker so it matches black but your going to have nothing but a headache if you try and get it repainted/powdercoated.

If it really bothers you that much maybe corsair sells new side panels, it would probably be cheaper and less time consuming than trying to fix it yourself.

Contact Corsair. I believe their side panels are 30 bucks, and at that price, it'd be better to just replace the side panel than strip and paint it, or get a good matching touch-up paint. Replacement is definitely the best option.

Corsair's customer service is awesome and quick to respond.

replacement will be cheaper than stripping and repowdercoating the panel as well i believe.

Yeah. Don't know why replacement never crossed my mind.
