Sub $50 Intel CPU Cooler?

Thread Starter
I'm looking for a sub 50 dollar CPU cooler for an Intel CPU. Not neccesarrily in need of super cooling with liquid, just something to allow me to run cool with processes start to get up there.

Was thinking of the one below.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118223

Only thing is, my PC case has a PSU on the top instead of bottom, so I'd be feeding CPU heat either up into my PSU, or down onto my GPU.

Any ideas?

Why not look at the CoolerMaster Hyper 212+
But I don't know how it will do with your PSU being mounted up top.

I think this is better.I'm also looking for a good cooler for my 2500k,not so sure about the CM.

What processor are you running? The Hyper 212+ is a near-universal cooler for rather cheap and great results. It should be able to mount so that the fan blows the hot air out the back of your case.

Newegg doesn't have a very good price on it right now, though--search around and you should be able to find one for around $20.

EDIT: damn ninjas.

i5 650.

Can I just change the position of the 212 to push air down? I'd rather have it on a GPU than PSU.

The Zalman CNPS10X Performa is also a fantastic cooler, for less than the 212+ after rebate on Newegg right now.

The 212+ has a unique mounting system that allows you to position it in any of the four directions you like.

It is better to have the cooler fan aiming toward the exhaust fan in the back of your case (provided it has one) to get rid of the hot air completely. Hot air blowing on your GPU won't help, and can certainly make temps worse.

But you failed to read that his PSU is mounted up top which would limit him to having it pointing up or down due to space constraints.
