Ive been trying to enable "unofficial overclocking" on MSI Afterburner, but cant get it working! When I open the MSIAfterburner.cfg i dont find the "enable unofficial overclockin". should be there according to this forums:

http://www.overclock.net/ati/641299-...terburner.html

And one more thing: Axe.. Is this good for OC? : Zalman VF3000A GPU Cooler.

Can you help me out here guys?=)
I would get this one personally. I think it preforms better than the zalman. I have also heard of people having issues with the zalman coolers shorting stuff on their cards because they installed them incorrectly.

Alright. got it sorted out now. Needed to install a newer version of MSI AB. Running my card on 845/1182 MhZ now.
Tested it with Furmark and got it very hot. Think my max temp was 92'C, before i quitted. Didnt want it to overheat. Hear these cards withstand 110'C, but heck. that sounds too hot to me.

Thinking about wether to go higher or try this way for a bit first. Gonna test CoD BO now to see if i get better FPS. How can u check that?

Anyways thinkning of a Zalman GPU Cooler, and RAM cooler fans. We'll see. It all costs. Poor me=(

Thx guys. Vegard NOR

Killeraxe. i checked it out at my local netstore.. It says nothing about fitting my card 5850.. but maybe its the same as 5870? Ive heard there are some up-and down sides with the cooler yes.

Thanks for the enthusiasm! loving it
Think i will go for the cooler now, since ive already ordered it. Doesnt seem i can do much OC'n with my RAM though. Anyhow; ordered a new mainboard instead of the old MSI one. Hopefully i get refund on the warranty on that one. ! I was told it was too sucky to do any CPU OC'in on. Eventually i will atleast OC my CPU and my GPU then...

Geez . OC'in isnt as esy as it looked.

Best regards, and good night

A 5850 and 5870 are the same card. Any cooler that fits one will fit the other

V3000 Cooler on my HD5850 XFX BE, how ever i found the stock cooler better for ocing as it seems to do alot better job at keeping them cool. If you want your cooler to be quiter, get the V3000, if you want to OC, stay on stock cooler

Okei guys.

I now installed the Zalman VF3000A on my xfx 5850be.

Got a couple of black screens, but are running smooth now on 905/1200MHz.

Btw. the cooler is meant for normal 5850, and did not properly fit. But I think i worked my way around it.

Its quiet, and stable at max 60*C @ full load so im very happy with it.

thx for all the halp

If you bump your voltage on your card you can probably get some better numbers but good OC!

Hay guys. Ive just found out yesterday that the BE versions cant be bumped in voltage. Should I settle with it? Or do you guys know any way around it? I havent tried anything in BIOS.

Much appreciated, Vegard, NOR
