need advice on gtx 460 se dc 1gb overclock and sli

Thread Starter
been looking for a few days trying to find the right info on this, so hoping i can get some help here.

the question is, if i am running 2 asus gtx460 1gb se dc cards overclocked
will my corsair gaming series 600w power supply be able to handle them?

as far as i have been able to find out, that would put me around a gtx470 sli power level and i should be fine, but i just want to be sure.

ny help is awesome.

thanks a lot in advance

600W PSU.. is about the min for 2x460s...

if it is a good quality PSU it will be fine...

what it is exact model of your PSU so we can have a look at the specs

also what are the specs of the rest of your system...

include any OCs if you have them

rates the neede power at around 500watts ( reccomended) for non oc sli, hoping 100w gives me enough headroom

According to http://www.corsair.com/gs600w.html, your PS has a single 48a 12v rail. One GTX 460 requires at least 24a, so x2 would be 48. You will need 4xpcie 6pin connectors too.
In conclusion your PS may run the setup, but it may take a toll on the PS, i.e. shorter lifespan.

Off-topic, did you mean this: cpu- AMD Athlon II X4 64 6000+ 3.0ghz ?
