Is my Motherboard Picky?

Thread Starter
I have a Asus Striker Extreme 680i, and for some reason getting it to accept any ram is a problem. I have 2x1gb OCZ reaper @1066, which works fine, but I can't add anymore. I have heard some people saying that the other 2 slots I may be faulty. So I removed the ram I had installed, THE OCZ, and put in 2x1gb Corsair Dominators (DDR2) in there, and it wont boot up.

LCD Poster on the back is faulty so I cant see what message its posting or whatever.

Any solutions to why this fooking board does this?

Try and boot up with the working sticks and set all RAM timings to manual. 800-5-5-5-15-Command Rate 2T and try 2.0 Volts. Then shut down your computer and add those last sticks and fire her up again.

You could also try to increase North Bridge Volts.

Edit: I have owned two Asus P5N-E SLI boards (650i). These where also picky about RAM. I had best success running them at 667MHz when using all four slots filled. Instead I used tighter timings and command rate 1T to compensate for the lost MHz.
