Blew up my speakers, looking for new ones.

SO.

I'm buying new ones.
Coincidentally I'll be hosting a party for roughly, let's say 25 - 50 people in a space of about 70 square metres.
I just received some news, it might be 50 people, but about 20 of these guys are too shy to even dance or whatever, and I guess at least 10 of them will want to hang out inside, so make it an open air 20 people thing.

I need something I can use to fill that space, yet something that I can also use at home without waking up the neighbours too much.
I have a budget around €500, so please, any input is much appreciated.

Was thinking of buying 2 logitech z-5500's, but being as it's pretty much overkill at home (space and 2 subwoofers and all) and I didn't have the feeling I would get the quality sound I could have for €520.

Also, I don't mind a large subwoofer, however, two of em seems like a bit of an overkill for me.
Anyhoo, ideas, reviews and whatnot are very much appreciated.

The best idea is to NOT get computer speakers and especially NOT a Logitech. 50 prerson party on a set of computer speakers.... Must be a troll.

Im not a audiophile so im not going to make any suggestion since it will probably get flamed but get your self some heafty speakers. You can always just keep the volume low. (I heard

is a good sub price / performance)

I got B&W 603s

Am definitely not a troll, I'm seriously looking for stuff for a party.

I just received some news, it might be 50 people, but about 20 of these guys are too shy to even dance or whatever, and I guess at least 10 of them will want to hang out inside, so make it an open air 20 people thing.
I'll see some of my local music stores again to see if I can get some idea of what might be good.

If these Klipsch ProMedia 5.1's perform anything like the 2.1 ProMedias...they'll rock faces.

If you are using it strictly for parties, do not get any regular speakers.

Get these:

It's just barely over your budget =P

PC speakers for a house party?
Those Mackie speakers thumper linked looked good.
I had a pair of JBL Eons that I used for my turntables and they hit pretty good.

If your in the lower part of NL contact king shiloh/teshuvah hi fi,they will ensure you got plenty of sound, hire a rig
ofcourse you could just buy speakers, but if you hire a rig you dont have to worry about mess/spilt beer/stringing up or cleaning up etc.

Well, been doing some research, and found that a Begringer Amp EP2000, along with two Phonic Impression 12 Top speakers and a Phonic Impression 15 Subwoofer to be well fit for the job~
Thing will cost me 631 euro's, which is practically a steal for 2 speakers a sub and an amp imo.

Some monitor 70s would play well in a party, and even after the fact. Any speaker you get is going to blow unless your driving them with decent power, something else to keep in mind.
http://cgi.ebay.com/PAIR-Monitor-70-...item53e621dd91,

Check Newegg, they may have better price.
