Yes, atleast on my 955. Maybe with a hexacore and a game that can use 6 cores you would still see gains.

Meh, ram will hold you back as it's still dual channel.

Very interesting results, I'd imagine the latency has the biggest impact as stated before, the time saved between iterations adds up very quickly in almost any application, especially those that are threaded. I'd say its quite justified for "just" a NB overclock - 10ns looped 100k times is a LOT of processor time spent NOT WAITING on ram. And 100k loops is nothing for a quad core at any clock.

LOL look harder he went up almost 100 fps for highest fps and 11 fps for average id say thats pretty huge seeing as how if you have a 460 and go to a 480 you get about the same gains.

On the ASUS M4A785TD Evo boards, is the multiplier CPU/NB??? I adjusted that but it still says 2200 mhz in CPU-Z for me. :-/

Edit: Nevermind this. For some reason if I up the FSB, CPU-Z will report it going up. But if I down the multiplier, it won't go below FSBx10 in CPU-Z. Not sure if it's a bug with CPU-Z or BIOS.

Dual channel with a improved IMC can still give drastic gains.

Dual channel SB is pretty decent, SBe will be quad... The question is when is enough ----- enough?

With SB there is almost no gain from very high end dimms - not exactly sure why, but I'll assume its because its no longer a bottleneck.

Dual Channel 1.56v ram on SB:

OP nice job, any gain is a gain. Don't let anyone shoot down free performance gains, they just don't get it
