I'm sorry folks. Polishing or not its been too... damn... LONG.

Seriously. Its like saying everyone else can watch the Superbowl. But you can't because you have a 1080p TV while it was broadcast in analog. So six months later you can watch it because its been up-rezed and "polished". The party is OVER. Everyone knows how it turns out including you. Everyone else has had their fun and its old news.

Sure you can tell me "then don't buy it" (I wont til its ten bucks), but if I'm feeling this way I know other PC gamers are feeling the same way and are disappointed too. Not good for sales. No one likes the left over reheated scraps from dinner no matter how nice of a foam Dixie plate you put it on. Especially after six months. Weird things start to GROW.

They kind of burned through their good will from gamers by following up with a craptastic expansion and a mediocre sequel. Then came Fable...with modest console sales, they weren't expecting much from it when they released it on PC several months later. It was a bit of a surprise hit, and sold much better on PC than console. So of course they chose the most illogical followup possible, and made Fable 2 a console exclusive. Predictably, it didn't do so well. After consulting the magic paint fumes, they decided that Fable 3 should be released on console first, followed by a much, much later PC release.

This is what happens when important business decisions are made by throwing empty beer cans at chickens and having a crackhead translate the squawks into instructions.

Disclaimer: I know Lionhead had a hand in a few other games over the years, such as Spore, which held the record for several years as the single most pirated game in history. I blame that on a combination of Molywhatever's neverending hype train plus the inclusion of ridiculous (for the time) DRM.
If anything the first Fable had modest PC sales. It was a smash hit on Xbox. Wherever you are getting your info from (I imagine your ass) it's not a good source.

I also can't find anything on Lionhead having it's hand in Spore at all.

I'm going to try it first, and if it's a port. I'm not buying it.

MAY?!

So it was released in October on consoles and we were told that as part of a "renewed commitment to PC gaming" it would be released soon on PC, but we'll have ended up waiting 7 months.

I'm not usually one for ranting on about how PC gamers get it a bit unfairly, but I was hoping to get this in like November. Even January would have been fine. Instead they release it right in the middle of a load of major exams for me.

At least it may have decreased in price by the time I've finished my exams.

I bet at least 50% of the people who think this would still stick with their pirated version even if it wasn't a direct port.

I'll give the game a go when it's the right price.
PC game released before it's console counterpart:
They're simply using us as a beta test for the consoles!

PC game released at the same time as it's console counterpart:
It's a rushed console port, avoid like the plague!

PC game released later than it's console counterpart:
Who cares anymore, they're stringing us along!

Don't ever change OCN.

Pretty much... Heck, just look at all the people who are convinced that Battlefield 3 is going to be a console port.

There you go, simplified it a little for you. If you can't tell, I'm making fun of your elitist attitude.
