New 1055T runs too hot

Thread Starter
My old rig (see not yet updated sig), died the other day so I went ahead and replaced it with something a bit more powerful. It seems that its running way too hot (51 idle, 62 full load) and thus the stock heatsink is very loud. Its driving me nuts!

Is there anything I could've done wrong (like attaching the heatsink poorly) or is this normal?

edit: ok there's also the 37 degree temp which could be for cpu:

Code:
k10temp-pci-00c3
Adapter: PCI adapter
temp1: +37.0°C (high = +70.0°C, crit = +99.5°C)

atk0110-acpi-0
Adapter: ACPI interface
Vcore Voltage: +1.46 V (min = +0.85 V, max = +1.60 V)
 +3.3 Voltage: +3.33 V (min = +2.97 V, max = +3.63 V)
 +5 Voltage: +5.04 V (min = +4.50 V, max = +5.50 V)
 +12 Voltage: +11.93 V (min = +10.20 V, max = +13.80 V)
CPU FAN Speed: 4560 RPM (min = 600 RPM)
CHASSIS FAN Speed: 0 RPM (min = 600 RPM)
CPU Temperature: +51.0°C (high = +60.0°C, crit = +95.0°C)
MB Temperature: +51.0°C (high = +45.0°C, crit = +75.0°C)

Stock.
That's the issue champ.

Reapply some thermal paste, or it might be seated wrong.

Oh also, you shouldn't get that high temps, but the stock heatsink is VERY LOUD.

Grab a hyper 212

Wow that's hotter than mine was when I first got it. Is the fan firmly attached to the board and not loose? You could also try manually setting the voltage to something lower like 1.30, that works for me at stock clocks. Though there is no way is should be 52 at idle, something is very wrong.

What's your cooling? Stock? If so, seems normal.

That must be loud , as others have said an aftermarket HSF will lower your temps and save your sanity.

Opening the case makes it drop to about 45 degrees.

Ok then, once it actually does drive me insane I'll buy a new fan. Thanks.

What motherboard?
Heat from VRMs may be radiating to CPU cooler

As always, xd_1771 always manages to link a issue to VRMs.

"Sir, the ship is sinking! It's the VRMs"

Is this not perhaps related to ventilation in your case? Do you have any pics?

Something is wrong there. Try replacing the TIM? I'm using the stock heatsink with OCZ Freeze with the fan @ 70% and I peak at 62C with 74F ambient.
