They answered my e-mail:

Hello

Please send a picture of the block, as we should have no old style EK blocks in stock. 100% of them were checked.
Best Regards,
Customer Service, Performance-PCs.com

I already sent them photos of the block in the plastic bag with the adhesive seal.

Hehehe. The right spelling is demorou, but when we talk, we forget about the u and just say "demoro". And the meaning it's like "What are we waiting for" as in "Lets to something...", "Ok, so why are we still here". I hope that I have made a good explanation.

Edu,

It's hard for us brazilians to have only one store to rely on. Its not the only store that we can buy from, I can buy those parts here in São Paulo, but it is one of the cheapest solutions.

The block and the fittings were shipped on 21/01 and arrived here on 23/02. More then one month, only to find out that they sent the wrong block and one defective fitting, although they are not responsible for the bad fitting.

That was my eighth order there and I had another 2 in mind (mechanical keyboard, new mouse pad, a few watercooling parts and HDD silencers). I dont know, but I think I can be considered a good customer.

To people who say PPCs is rude when you deal with them about wrong parts...
if you're rude and pushy and demanding, don't expect nice treatment. I know first hand being in retail.
They are more than glad to help and solve problems, have I not once paid for shipping to return an item.. I even sometimes receive the new item before I ship the old one back.
This past order, I got 4 hate loons... 2 of which HD closed corners and 2 didn't. I called them asking why this was, they explained and offered if I wanted to get 2 of the same ones. No biggie for me, same fan.

@OP that email and request is normal.. this is to ensure that you're not pulling one over them and that it wasn't your mistake by ordering the wrong item. Its all good.

tlxxxsracer,

I also work at retail and here in Brazil the competition is so huge that if you do not provide a good service, you are dead. Here in Brazil, even a rude customer must be well served.

Thats not my case, I think that if you act politely the chances of solving your problem are greater.

Thanks.

New answer,

The block itself is still correct. There were virtually no changes to the internal water chambers for that revision. The outside corners was essentially all that was changed and leaves no performance difference in the block itself. And since EK made to contact with any vendors prior to the change, or afterwards for that matter, there is no way for us to keep this from happening until all of the so-called old blocks are gone. And again, there is no difference in the packaging either so all blocks would need to be opened. And since the change is purely cosmetic there is really no use.

We are aware from in house use as well that some of the Rotary fittings are very difficult to swivel. With Bitspowers extreme measures to keep the fittings from leaking at that swivel point, very tight tolerances are observed. We have CC'ed Bitspower on this email and they'll contact you directly with any insight or replacement instructions.
Best Regards,
James "Levell0rd" Davis, Performance-PCs.com

Why on the other e-mail they told that they were 100% sure that there were no old revision blocks left? Strange dont you think?

They said "so all blocks would need to be opened", but mine came without the adhesive sealing the box and with the 1.4cm marking on the box. Check Linus unboxing and you will see him cutting the box seal on both sides.

And thats my friends it is not providing a good service.

When I worked in retail a year or two back, customers would come and blame you for a product that broke or didnt function correctly. You also began to remember customers and they carry a reputation too.

I would respond stating that you ordered that specific block for a reason and was not expecting what you received. Also state how you've done research yourself and have learned that the distances between the new and old block are different, which result in larger barb sizes not being able to fit. Technically, there may be a very slight improvement with Rev. 2 (but dont quote me on that).

Then possibly pose the question (respectfully) if they are a vender, wouldnt it be their responsibility to provide correct representation of the product on their website. In addition to, seeing that the packaging was opened to see whether to write 1.3cm or 1.4cm on the box, they would know well which ones they have in stock and which was shipped. If they have old inventory, it would be their job to either get the new version or correct whats on their website.

I understand your situation.. What I did at the beginning was talk to them directly over the phone (for you may not be possible). Some things can be lost in translation through emails.

But whats weird is that I received the newer version, I ordered the same as you- copper/acetal. This was in the beginning of February.

Like I said, really no difference other looks between 1 and 2. But, customer is always correct, so I would politely ask them to change it as now they are back-tracking their earlier claim.

As a compromise, ask for a discount or something to compensate you and thus avoid having to ship back a perfectly functional and still great working block.

The fitting issue is still iffy. I had issues w/ a mb block I bought from them and they just referred me to EK, they were nice enough to email Eddy from ek for me. So I suspect you might be dealing w/ Bits on this front wink.gif.

Personally, I like the rev 1 Oval design w/ sexy curves tongue.gif

Good luck op thumb.gif

I still think they should replace yours with the one you actually bought. if they have picture of new block and selling revision 2, they shouldn't sell you the revision 1 block. it's false advertising. or at least give you some sort of credit for it.

let alone, claiming that they didn't have any old blocks and come back saying they do isn't too professional.

however, I understand they can't really tell what's revision 1 or 2 without opening the box. I'm looking at my rev 2 supreme HF box right now and there is no indication that it's rev 1 or two. But i think they could've done better job at controlling their stocks... separate the old block from new when they heard of rev 2, put old ones in different bin and newly arrived/revised ones in a new bin to stop this from happening.

yes I agree.. if the stickers are cut open they probably saw what's inside.. when I got mine from DAzmode.com there were 2 tapes that I had to cut open. you have a ground to stand on at this point so I would try to see what they can do for you, especially if you paid with paypal or even visa I suppose. They don't sound so "sincere" in their email, to me it just sounds like they are trying to teach you and correct you for their faults

Id have them replace it. After all- if they state they dont have any more of the old blocks, means EK may or has stopped producing them. So if they have stopped making rev. 1, that would be enough of a reason to want the rev. 2 because who wants older products? Plus It may make finding accessories for Rev.1 harder.

I would ask politely for an RMA so you can get the right block that is illustrated on their website. But if possible I would call them directly- becomes more personal than just through emails.

I wish you best of luck smile.gif
