CPU OC Making GPU Performance Worse

Thread Starter
I noticed that my framerate suddenly was not were it should be last night. After testing each gpu, reinstalling windows, and still not making any progress on why, I realized that my cpu oc is effecting my gpus.

I have been using Heaven 2.1 as my benchmarking program, and I am getting results very similar to these each time.

SLI

GPU1

GPU2

According to that, as my cpu oc goes up, my framerate drops. This makes no sense to me and I am at a loss

Overclock messing with PCIE settings or RAM?

Honestly a correct overclock wouldn't mess with GPU at all.

Question: Are you still SLI'ed in the OC'ed Heaven bench? I know you should be, but did you verify?

Did you check to see if your SLI was working by chance?

My pcie frequency is 100 and the ram is slghtly underclocked. My cpu passed 40 runs of linx. This seems to be a recent problem because since building in dec there was no problems till last night.

Sli is enabled when running the benchmark, I get about 99% gpu usage.

Try reinstalling the latest drivers and make sure to use Driver Sweeper. The problems I've seen related to this are from a bad driver.

Tried that then a fresh windows install and even tried wiping the drivers again too, no difference.

Interesting. Clock down your CPU to around 3.8GHz and see what happens in a test. If that doesn't effect anything best thing to do is call up EVGA. They should warrant you an RMA without any issues.

Edit: You could also check your PSU and see if its powering your hardware properly.

Hmm ill try that and post back, ill also try 3.4 and see how that is

Also I can step up to 570s and I've been wanting to do that, but I don't wanna do that if this isn't a gpu issue.

Looks like Your SLI wasn't working on the OC version It's about half performance of the first screen

I tested again at 3.8 and 3.4, the higher the oc the lower the framerate

Check first post for pic
