Purchase doubt

Thread Starter
Im planning to buy another 5870 to CF or a 6970,but here's the deal, when i jumped from a 4870 to my actual 5870 i experienced very little change. Crysis improved maybe 3~4 FPS. So my doubt is a new card will finaly satisfy me... at least for a couple of months or will it be like going from my ex 4870 to my actual 5870? should i get something else?

i just want to know if its worth the trouble

Thanks in advance!!

Biggest gains would be crossfire IMHO as its simalar to 6870 Crossfire and my setup kills a single 6970.

However if you want newer tech go for the 6970.

I went from 2 4870-512 cards in CF to a single 6970 and it made very little difference in my 3dmark06 score. The big gain was I can now run all my games at max settings 1900x1200. One day I plan on getting another 6970 and CF again but I think I will need a new CPU first.

thx for the quick answer, but maybe if you put a percentage to the performance increase, how much would it be?

Take a look at the chart on this page.

The 6970 is very simalar performance to the 570 and look at how much more the 5870 Xfire is.

The only thing is that the 6 series cards handle DX 11 better but the 5870 xfire has lots more raw performance than a single 6970.
