Newegg will always short change you unless you are prepared for it. This is why there are always, always threads about how Newegg screwed me XXXX. Then they write a thread and ppl go, call them and they'll fix it.

See, that's what you call tactics. Newegg knows X amount of ppl will just take it in the arse and they won't put up a stink and pay shipping both ways, suck up the restocking fees, etc. That's why they do it the way they do it.

The flip side of this is Amazon. You decide why you're returning, if defective you get a return label to print asap. No questions, blah blah blah, no calling, no emails, nadda.

When you were told to send the product back at your cost, did you make absolutely certain they understood that it was defective on arrival? Did they express that they understood this? If so, then perhaps that employee needs to be reported to their boss.

I mean, it's not your fault that it's defective, so they have no right to force a any customer to pay for return shipping or anything else (such as a restocking fee). After all: they're the ones who sold it to you in that condition.

I set up an RMA online with them before with an open box vid card that was defective. I think it just automatically charges the restocking fee. After I called them they waived the restocking fee and emailed me a time sensitive shipping label.

Took about 2 minutes on the phone and didnt have to explain anything.

Newegg FTL.......Amazon FTW.......
Amazon, refunds no prob, damaged goods they pay freight back, prices as good and even sometimes better than Newegg - and newegg charges me tax (TN )
RMA is a joke - fk newegg - Ordered the wrong part bt mistake, ship it back to Amazon
and get full refund.....
Actually almost every place beats newegg on returns

About the only thing I like about Newegg is the easy wish lists, reviews and
shell shocker deals

Yep same thing has happened to me with Newegg. My item was brand new but if you don't speak with someone directly (call or chat) sometimes this occurs.

If you are buying parts off amazon which has no warranties and is also normally USERS auctioning parts you will eventually get screwed. Always shop retail for computer parts always. Ive never had this trouble returning things to newegg, But normally i go to a local microcenter for any parts i need anymore just cause i hate waiting on UPS.

If you are buying from amazon, A user can ship you a broken part and scam you nothing amazon can do either actually other then talk to them on the phone been there have seen it happen.

Technically portions of amazon still work like e-bay, amazon is just more professional about it all.

BS. Amazon always sides with the buyer with 3rd sellers and you get Amazon's return policy as always. And that's not even the question here, since this is about buying direct from Newegg in comparison to buying direct from Amazon. And you go and bring up 3rd party deals. rolleyes.gif

You either didn't get my post or read the rest of it wink.gif, Yes i did bring them up it's very important to.

''amazon is just more professional about it all.''
I'm self aware of what they do, But i have been scammed on amazon and ended up not being returned anything for an entire year almost had to keep pressing it was quite ridiculous.

I have never had trouble with anything being shipped by newegg and if i needed it returned i have called and they have never given me any trouble with that either.
