Do you feel EA and Dice somehow owe you something for playing their game?
Frostbite 2.0 is a privately owned intellectual property. If Dice wants to release mod tools for it, that costs them time and money to deploy those tools. They have no financial obligation to the modding community whatsoever.
No they don't, but again, it's all about goodwill. Tbh i for one am not that big into mods, but modding has been part of the PC gaming culture since forever.

Now you see, this is the problem with gaming in general being mainstream. Back in the day, when gaming (especially PC gaming) was still regarded as a nerdy, niche, small circle scene. Before the mass marketing campaigns, lavish gala events to promote your products. Before the internet was the go to place to get every piece of information you wanted about a game. Developers needed to work damn hard to make a product worth giving a damn about, and they constantly added moar and moar to sustain and grow their fanbase...

Nowadays, you just need some generic uber-soldier with some modern gear, and a good few millions to market said product... Gamers don't buy games anymore, they buy names...

Slap Call of Duty on a bag of sand, and it will sell...

And regarding Fallout 3, it only has 5 packs, not tons :/.

And another thing. The reason those packs sold well is due to the LACK OF modding on consoles. So if you had it on console, you were stuck with just DLC...
you really are blinded.

you have absolutely zero idea what it takes to make maps, or create objects. considering the level of destruction.

You simply think its as simply as releasing the tools, guess what, its not. Many of their tools for frostbite 1.5 couldnt even be run on a desktop computer, and it took days for a workstation to cook a build.

you seriously compare battlefield to cod. Thats just stupid. seriously stupid. COD is all about milking, they arent pushing the genre forward with new gameplay, nor graphics. Battlefield is still trying to move the genre forward, not simply milk.

You make no valid arguments.

Actually no i dont, but i'm sure there are 100's of ppl with free time who manage just fine in that department.

You simply think its as simply as releasing the tools, guess what, its not. Many of their tools for frostbite 1.5 couldnt even be run on a desktop computer, and it took days for a workstation to cook a build.

Maybe if they took their messy engine and built proper tools for it, they could actually sell licenses for Frostbite. Now imagine that? Other games running Frostbite

Anyway... I still think you really underestimate the "The Hive". There are a lot of dedicated ppl out there who WILL make it work.

*sigh* Vhati as usual seeing comparisons and what not that don't exist. I'd like you to point out where i compared BF to CoD?

Anyway... Sure one is "moving the genre forward" [citation needed], but at the end of the day there's money to be made here, and i'm sure EA will sell plently of map packs for this game.

But like all speculations i'll just say what i always say: We'll see all in due time...

You make no valid arguments.

Say's Vhati, the who's who in the gaming industry.
In BOLD. Now go troll elsewhere pl0x.

am i trolling. No, im just calling someone out on for the fact that they are making nothing but assumptions on every subject they are talking about, and arent paying any attention to what the developers are saying.

You just assume they dont want to release tools, you assume that EA is doing it so they can sell map packs. You assume that it would be easy or even possible to release tools to the public. You assume that their engine is messy, You assume they would want to sell licences. You assume that the PC DLC sales for fallout were poor.

You have absolutely nothing to back up any of your statements, but There are tons of facts from the devs Dice, talking about how and why they arent doing mod tools.

EA went from evil to good and back around to evil again. Except now they are even more evil than before. We need a publisher who isn't evil. Yet, I see none.
