Loop advice!

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I'm thinking of redoing my loop to make it neater (currently, I feel there is too much tubing!)

I currently possess a 800d, with a 480mm rad mounted to the roof, and a 240 rad mounted to the bottom.

Current loop order:

Res > Pump > 240 Rad > CPU > GPU 1 > GPU 2 > 480 Rad > Res

I don't have too much problem with this atm, but would like to shorten the tubing length, as the 240rad > CPU piece is fairly long, as is the GPU 2 > 480 Rad.

I am considering:

Res > Pump > 240 Rad > GPU 2 > GPU 1 > CPU > 480 Rad > Res

Can anyone provide any feedback as to how my temps would change? I am assuming that they would worsen, however I am unsure how big an impact it would be.

Thanks.

I would personally put the 480 were the 240 is.

You could cool the GPU first, then the CPU. I doubt the temps would change, but if the temps do change, you are looking at ~~1C-2C change.

it won't change. probably at most 1 deg but seriously though, it's still in the same loop, same components.

from what I've read, loop order makes very very little difference as long as the res is before the pump. The only reason I might see it changing is that the water coming from your gpu's is warmer then it would be if it came straight from your rad. However, I think that after your system stabilizes the temperature difference between areas of your loop will be minimized because your system will be saturated at the output efficiency of your rads so the temperature will equalize to be the same in your loop overall. But as others mentioned, it's possible you may see a 1~2C increase in cpu temps.

switching the rads around wont do anything
after it leaves the gpu it starts cooling and cools till it leaves the rad on the way into the cpu block again

ALWAYS cool the cpu block first in a loop with multiplace blocks
that way your cpu is getting the coolest water it can get

ahh right cool, thanks.

Probably will go with this instead:

Res > Pump > 240 Rad > GPU 2 > GPU 1 > 480 Rad > CPU > Res

Seems to be shortest route, at the expense of 2/3 degrees increase in CPU temps.

How about res>pump>480 rad>cpu>280 rad>gpu>gpu ..??
