I don't know about holiday sales but Dell offers them at large discounts every few months. I got mine for 825USD when the normal asking price is 1099. I have seen a few go for under 800 new from ebay sellers.

I got the U2711 a few days ago.

Initially, the AG coating is very noticeable, but after a bit of usage I got used to it. I can definitely still tell it's there, but it doesn't get in the way of me seeing what is on the screen.

This is by far the best monitor I have ever owned and the amount of screen real estate you have is ridiculous. I don't even use close the full resolution during normal usage (browsing, etc). The resolution just shines when it comes to editing pictures though. I kind of feel that this is overkill for my uses, but I love it and will probably keep it regardless biggrin.gif

Oh and another thing, I had to lower my BF3 settings to low (from ultra). 2560x1440 brought my card (6950 2GB) to its knees in High and Ultra. I guess it's time to CrossFire.

I really have my eye set on the U3011, but I'm a bit hesitant. I love gaming. I play MMO's and FPS games mostly. I have heard that there is noticeable ghosting on the U30 and noticeable input lag as well. I am not planning on doing any serious competitive gaming, however I am very competitive when I do game. I would hate to get this monitor and be pissed because it is hidering gaming performance. I do NOT want a 1080p resolution. Any serious gamers out there using this monitor care to offer their input?

Thanks.
