Which cooler?

Thread Starter
So I've been planning on building an i7-950 system, but i changed my mind to get an i5-2500k. So far I have everything except my cooler, mobo, and gpu selected.

What I was wondering was should I go with the Noctua NH-D14 for 90. or is the cooler master hyper 212+ good enough for 30. Or are there any other suggestions.

comparison

here is the rest of my system.

Hyper 212+ hands down. It's one of the best cost/performance coolers out there right now.

well the Noctua will be a best Arsenal for Cooling if budget is not an issue at all..

well its not really, i was just wondering if its even worth the extra 60. the system will cost less than 1500 b4 taxes which is pretty good for me.

if i get the hyper 212+ should i replace the 120mm fan with a really good one? to increase for not getting the noctua

The stock Blademaster on a Hyper 212+ is actually a very good heatsink fan, albeit a bit loud when it ramps up to its full speed.

Hyper 212+ + Gentle Typhoons. If you have unlimited budget D14 or Silver Arrow.

If you're looking for some massive overclocking, it's Noctua time. If you're content with stock speeds or lesser overclocks, it's Hyper212+'s point. I just built a system for a friend and the Hyper 212+ is doing its job wonderfully.

Well three budget isn't an issue because its only like 1500. Also I have never overclocked but I want to look into it so I'm just choosing which is best for me. I am waiting till asus releases its new mobos to see which one to get. But cooling is the only.other thing I haven't figured out. Also are there any replacements for 230 mm fans?
