Worried about unlocking

Thread Starter
My mobo allows core unlocking, but I had a quick question. In a worst case scenario, I set the ACC to auto and windows crashes, will I still be able to restart and change the settings in the bio? Sorry, im new to this whole unlocking game :-)

Worst case scenario, you have to remove the CMOS battery for ~2 minutes or short the clear CMOS jumper on your board, no big deal to reset the BIOS settings

What does the term POST mean? So if the unlocked core screws up, I just cant restart the PC and change the settings?

Post, pretty much a stage where the computer has booted and everything is running smoothly. Often accompanied by a 'beep' from the case speaker to indicate all is well.

If the unlock doesn't go well, there's no guaranteeing that it will still boot/post properly, in which case you'll have to reset the settings with the methods I described. Otherwise if it's stable enough to get you into the BIOS screen you can just load the failsafe defaults.
