it only beeps once, which means all components work fine... which in a way they are...

ok, so after swapping around new and old components, it turns out that i had some problem with my hdd...used install cd to fix start up problem, now seems ok to boot into windows with default bios.

so back to setting ram speed manually...i spotted something weird...

so, as before, with default bios, booting into windows is fine, ran ibt, no problem.
manually setting ram frequency to 1333, also fine, ran ibt, no problem.
manually seeting ram frequency to 1600, here it f**ks up...posts, but only shows up 4gigs of ram, and booting only goes as far as glowing windows logo, then comes the bsod...
manually setting ram frequency to 1866, its gets weird here...at post, it shows 4gigs of ram again, but boots into windows fine!!?!?! checking system info in windows, also shows 4gigs of ram. check with cpuz, detects all 3 slots, hmmmm...

anyhow, i ran each stick individually in the first ram slot, all without problem, so all 3 rams work ok im guessing. so i tried with one stick at each ram slot, and slot 2 wouldnt boot. all this is done with both 1600 and 1866mhz.

so all the testing means slot 2 of my mobo cant handle anything at 1600+mhz...i guess this is a definite mobo defect then...? has this happened to anyone else before?

id say ur second slot is making problems to u... try 1and3 slot and oc than... if its fine than second slot will be gone soon...
as far i can understand the problem

i guess my 2nd slot is dying...

at 1600mhz, its actually not an overclock, both my mobo and ram supports it, but now not working...

but yeah, like u suggested, i tried both 1866 and 2000mhz with just slots 1 and 3, worked fine...

time to get a rma or get it repaired...

thanks for the advices, +1 rep for helping
