Have fun with your Quad SLI. You seem to think you know all, okay...have fun with that.
Fact is, Microstutter, and lack of AA due to low memory WILL be an issue, PERIOD. I could care less what drivers you run. Dual GPU solutions have ALWAYS had microstutter and other driver issues. Going with more than 2 GPU's only makes those issues worse. Period, end of story.
And you keep comparing Vantage scores. So what? That's ONE synthetic benchmark. Let's see you max out DiRT2. How about BFBC2? Crysis 2 when its released? What's that, oh yeah...you CAN'T.
You are picking the WORST upgrade path you possibly could pick. You asked about Quad SLI vs. a single 580. We answered, and you didn't like it because you are so hell bent on being right...when you're not.
Oh, and you are SOOOO wrong on another point.
If a game supports SLI, it automatically supports Quad SLI. Oh really? So if a game supports a dual core CPU, it automatically supports a quad core huh? Then why is it that GTA IV won't use more than 3 cores? It's the same exact principal. You'll HAVE to play games that actually SUPPORT Quad GPU's in order to benefit from it. And there's not very many that do. I could probably count the Quad GPU optimized games on one hand.
