GTX 580 vs GTX 295 SLI - Page 12

Did anyone here read the thread this guy started asking about the 590 vs 6990?

I'll link you to the thread and you guys can decide for yourselves what you think.

What he's doing on eBay can be considered fraudulent or highly un-ethical getting his friends to outbid the one honest person bidding on the card, to discourage him from biding so he can get it cheaper in the end.

See for yourself in the manner he speaks to others in that thread, and the way he's speaking to people here:

I might have exaggerated the subject meaning that Kepler most probably won´t be released in April or May ...but July - August seems reasonable to me despite any funding problems.
We are talking about a whole new step in Graphics Card Architecture.
28 nm is a whole new level and bound to bring innovations to the scene you do not have to speculate or assume that fact.

Like I have said before...the Dual Card Solution is just a measure to facilitate the disposal of the residualing 580 chips wrapped in some advertisement and PR.
There is just no logical reason in participating this marketing fraud by buying this card for a price that is in my oppinion unjustified.

Nvidia has got a variety of analysts and researchers specialized to log and study the common consumers behavior through threads like this to determine how to establish their product strategy.

What I am trying to say is that you should be able to look past the media, all the hype and advertising etc....and once you have done that what remains?Something that has already been there for a certain period of time wrapped up with a new name and some PR with a crazy price tag.
Just to fill the gap until the new series begins.
Be aware

I would like you to note that the multiple times I have mentioned that Kepler will outperform fermi by at least double the performance I had assumed you to have the experience and the ability to comprehend that such a statement could just not possibly be conseived in such an obtuse manner you appear to have misinterpreted it .

Secondly the purpose of a road map is to give people a guide line in order to supply them with an idea not a firm date of the actual release of the product I am well aware of that fact. What you obviously failed to learn is that this years roadmap exhibition was inspired by new funding and production options Nvidia has been proposed and I strongly doubt that the CEO would dare to jeopardize his financially and manufacturly aiding partner companies.

As in terms of your purchasing disorder I will explain to you why this kind of behavior is typcal for the average inexperienced GPU consumer.
Like I have said before Nvidia has a variety of specialized analysts and marketing researchers that precisely study the typical behavior of the average rather shallow minded consumer. They target inexperienced, naive, easily seducable and often ignorant individuals. They anticipate their targeted group not to measure a purchase with logic and necessity.Their marketing strategies and advertisement is particularized and specified to lure the consumer which often shows the exact aforementioned symptoms.
You have to understand that this involves a lot of basic psychology which intelligent people should be resistant to
Your common and often used justifiation of reselling seems absurd to me.
I do class you as an intelligent person based on what I have seen that is why I do not understand why someone like that would fall for such pedantic phsychological strategy.

This is just an example, that thread is 15 pages long and was eventually closed.

^^^ lol just read through that thread.

I think that he had his friends give him rep just like the ebay bidding that he has mentioned. Because anyone that has given him rep deserves an immediate punch to the eye.

While the score may be high, I assure you the newer high-end cards will totally decimate it performance wise in the latest games.

295 x 2 better than a 590 which isn't even released yet? That shows right there how clueless you are. You shouldn't ask for advice with a topic called "GTX 580 vs GTX 295 SLI" and not expect people to voice their opinions, which in my own opinion, they're right. If I were you, I'd wait and sell the 295 you have now and save up for a 580 or Kepler.

But hey, as long as you're happy with your 295s.
I do not want anymore advice on wheter or not to get Quad SLI because if you had read page one this issue has already been resolved.

First off all my Vantage scores are very close to the 580´s.
Secondly who are you to say noobish benchmark?A whole community is built on it and it its purpose is to give you an idea ho your hardware would perform in the real world lol.
Iam just done justifing myself to your random statements.

OP - No, GTX295 best card on earth. Runs everything maxed out....I dont want your advice.
I have asked multiple times to stop using foul language!
I don´t want to wate time anymore having to prove points to you that do not understand obviosly.

Also that ebay thing ...unethical lol?every single member does it...I would rather refer to it as strategic.

Why does appear to me only the people with these little blue flames know what they are talking about?

Seriosly though I am grateful for each and one of all your posts
I really appreciate it and apologize if I came off a little rough sometimes.
I am saying this because I realized that you aren´t as wrong as I thought ^^

Power consumption and overclockability are the factors that are making me reconsider and think that you might be right after all.

Only question though....how long can a single 580 max overclocked withstand the stress?
And which brand has been documented to overclock the best anyways?
It would be kinda rough getting a new 580 for 500€ and having to max overclock it in order to play at decent fps don´t you think?

Good you just admitted 580 beats 295. And I have my 580 at 1ghz 24/7. Destroys any game even without overclocking. Can you get 1ghz core clocked or 2000 shaders? Nope so ****

I never admitted anything lol? I jusr apologized and said that I did have some doubts about Quad afterall.

But I find your response a little inmature.

And regarding the rest of your post.
Is it really reasonable having to push a single card this far to be able to play at decent settings?

When that single card has more muscle then two GTX 275 cores, yes, he can say that. WITHOUT OVERCLOCKING, in regards to MINIMUM framerates, a single 580 would be smoother then two 295's.

And when you said this:

I do not want anymore advice on wheter or not to get Quad SLI because if you had read page one this issue has already been resolved.

Your entire post became pointless. You made up your mind on what your getting long before, you came here to gloat and raise awareness that there are some users so obsessed with what they have, it's like tunnel vision, and anything that disproves your findings is immature and uneducated.

Fyi, Vantage is a SYNTHETIC benchmark, I'd rate it up there with WIE on the "E-peen" Scale. Actually go play on a PC outfitted with the 4XX or 5XX series, then compare it directly to your 295. I dare you.

Again we are drifting of a direct question because you need to post something that has either already been resolved ,explained or disproven and at the end I am blamed for it lol?

I apologized to everybody that might have been offended and hope they will too cause the situation escalated a little.
Now the only thing I want an answer to is this:

Is it really reasonable having to push a single card this far to be able to play at decent settings?

Anything else has already been chewed through a 100 times and I am growing tired sry.

It's the fact that a single 580/570 card can show up a dual-GPU card that's impressive.

Which GTX 580 manufacturer has the highest documented oc?
And my question was if it were reasonable to buy a 600$ single card and having to max overclock it to be able to play at decent settings.
And how long it could maintain such stress.

A lot longer then a cramped PCB would. Each card is different. EVGA generally has good OC'ing cards, and a 570 is $350, not $600, and can catch up to 580's. If your going for the highest documented, I believe it was on this card.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-432-_-Product

Or find that cooler. It doesn't cost $600 to get good performance, even two 560's would decimate in terms of temperature, power consumption and features.
