GTX 580 vs GTX 295 SLI - Page 20

In my Country a GTX 580 would cost me 450-499€ + 87€ Waterblock that adds to a price at least 540-580€+ .

Another GTX 295 will only cost me around 100 - 140€ + 2 Waterblocks for 119€ each=> 380€

We have a 200€ difference here.

Note that I will dispose of the card/cards anyway when Kepler arrives.
Also bare in mind that I want the best gaming performance (fps) and still smooth gameplay.

I could afford both but what would be the best way to go?

If cost is not a concern at all then get the 580s

If cost is a neglagiable concern then get the 580s

If cost is a even a moderate concern then IMO dont invest in the first gen DX11 cards.

Bottom line is for now you will get slightly better lighting effects than DX10 and very softcore tessellation in games until second generation DX11 cards come out. Any buyer should make their decision baed on that IMO.

So, why bother creating a thread in the first place if you don't want to hear advice that you asked for?

One post he says he can afford both, in another post he says the 580 is way too expensive, so which one is it? clearly he can't afford the 580, so just go for another 295 and stop asking so many questions.

He also thought he could get a 2nd 295 for $50, and when we told him that wasn't happening, he also argued that point. Guess how much the auction ended up at? 180 EUR.
Your ripping scentences out of context and not even that you are doing well.I said Quad 295 have more performance which is true.

Clearly you did not even give 2 minutes of thinking to this post.

I can afford both but the 580 still is expensive lol? I do not see your logic here.

What angers me is that Kirby is saying the exact same things I have been saying for pages and everbody was busting me for it.

But now all of a sudden it is considered valid.

That is exactly what I said.

I personally do not see a difference between DX10 and DX11 do you?

I also said that until games could really take full advantage out of it and use it properly Kepler would already be released and that is when I would make my move anyway.

For now it is and I have watched it ...I am sorry that you are concerned about me but there is such a marginal difference almost not worth mentioning.

I hate to see that you rip your mouth when answering to me about and when responding to the same exact statements kirby made you overthink and post that way too.

At least now you will admit that DX11 is not ready to be held as factor worth deciding a gpu purchase over.

I do have the money for both certainly but the question is benefit and the bang for the buck.

All these things have already been stated by me it is very sad to see that only when spoken by someone else they are taken seriously.

It is only about 1 x 580 not 580s against Quad 295^^

Yeah all of a sudden you post with some scence.

It is very disappointing that someone else needed to make the same statements I did to make them be respected by you and some others here-.-

DX11 is in a very early state. Any DX11 GPU you buy now will not be able to keep up with any real DX11 games once fully realized DX11 games come out. I think those of u who are against the 295 already know this.
Word for word...

that is very sad!

I have finally decided I will probably get GTX 295 Quad if I can´t sell my old 295 for under 200€...I saw some 295 quad gameplay ...and there were no problems at all.

The Micro Stuttering is vastly exeggerated here.

And again every card has problems with AA the higher the resoultion gets!!!!!

Keep in mind that a too little amount of FPS looks even worse than a little Micro Stuttering.

If this thread was about quad 295 or 580 SLI then it would not even have 1 page

But a single 580 ..knowing that I will not get a second one and that I will dispose of it when the new generation begins is just too heavy.

FPS and benchmarking mean more to me than playing smoothly at a far lower resolution.

I'm sincerely sorry if my sarcasm was a bit to harsh, didn't mean to really offend you.

I do suggest you have a care on your topic though. As you can see I'm not the only one who commented on you asking for advice and then disregarding all ideas that went against what you think about the 200 series, AA and Dx11.

I just meant to make a joke on it, but that's no excuse to offend anyone, so I apologize!

OCN is not full of a**holes and I didn't want be one.
Sorry, dude!
