I don´t^^ but if you want to save money it is a far better investment:)
Take a look at the pictures in my post #69.
580 is just praised without reason look how close my 295 gets.
Imagine Quad.

Imagine Quad-580's. For the money, I don't think a second 295 would be worth it at all...one will do fine for awhile. Not ALL games "automatically" support 4-way SLI. DX11 is a HUGE advantage, if you had a DX11 card, and played an actual game using it, you would notice a large difference, especially games that utilize tessellation heavily. And it's not just "newer", it's less power hungry and more importantly, is a single card. I bet you can find a used 295 here, or on eBay, I've even seen some on overstock.com. The 580 is praised by people who OWN them, and don't know how they lived without it

Putting the price in consideration buying a used GTX 295 for 100$ to go Quad SLI is far more lucrative than buying an overpriced card like the 580 for four times the money which´s only advantage is DX11.
And like I said before DX11 is no improvement at all it is the same as DX10.

And for the 100th time!!!!!!!!!
These stupid arguements that QUAD SLI 295 has scaling probelms,AA and Micro stuttering issues is antique...those problems accured 2 years ago.

Now with new drivers and Windows 7 these issues have become nullified.
Pl post if you are sure that what you are saying actually makes sense.

Also you are wrong about the performance level of a 295.
It rather equals a 480.

And omg please stop trying to argue with facts!!
And just help me find a good used 295 with a waterblock.
lol $100 ya half of a 295 is what you'll get.

OCN member Hawk777th is currently running a GTX 295 Quad-SLI system. If he could come in and run some benchmark tests, it would settle this argument.
My money is on: single GTX580 = two GTX295s, plus or minus 5%.

Anyway, let me turn to the topic:
I admit that I do not follow the logic of the watercooled part of the 2nd used GTX295. Why watercooled? For 'extreme' overclocking?

As OP's current GTX295 (single PCB) is overclock-limited, then there is no point to 'extreme' overclock the 2nd one because the 2 cards will have to run at the same speed. So, there is no need to seek an used water-cooled GTX295 (dual PCB). Just seek an used air-cooled GTX295 (single or dual PCB) would be good enough...good enough to match the current one, IMHO.

If this makes sense, then the full budget (Us$221) could be used for that used air-cooled GTX295.

Lol? an averagely overclocked 580 consumes over 350 watt?
The GTX 295 only consumes max 289Watt.

Every game that supports SLI supports Quad SLI that is a fact.
Aso I do not know if you really understand the concept of DX11 but with Fermi technology it not only can´t really be used of to its full potential it also is a very small stepping stone from DX10 and is intended to be used by games and technology that really can take advantage out of it by the release of Kepler.
Right now it makes no sense especially not with the 580.

As you have seen in the pictures 1 x 580 scores 23.400 points and my GTX 295 scores 23.076 ....that is a midly higher advantage than 10 % lol.

So you see all this hype and praising about and of the GTX 580 is just advertisement in reality it is just a fermi card.

Kepler is going to be the evolution
And until then I will be much better of with GTX 295 Quad than GTX 580 or any other card out there

Thank you for your advice on where I can find a good one but I already made an offer on ebay for this one http://cgi.ebay.at/eVGA-Geforce-GTX-...item43a569b4af

it is only 41 € xDDD = 56$ that is an epic price and the best part is the seller hasn´t even opened the box yet^^

Edit:
Also I am sure I will watercool both because the cards run really hot ...why shouldn´t I?
And yes I got on that i will overclock on the same level as the other because if I didn´t they downclocked anyway

You seem very keen on getting the second GTX295 and all the OCN members have tried to do is help you see the benefits to the alternates to help prevent you from making a decision you would regret. You unfortunately take it upon yourself to dismiss all their suggestions, so you know what? Get the second 295 its your money bro and your problem in the end.

(but as a last suggestion and one that i haven't seen in this thread yet, Why don't you NOT get any other card until the next gen cards arrives? No game has really put the 295 in the grave yet, why not save the money and wait (Hell i've see people rocking 8800's and they are perfectly fine with them) ? If you want the "fastest system" you need to shell out money for it (people don't get Sli-580's for free) and you've demonstrated you are not up to that task.)

Oh man, yeah sure, go ahead, if you want to have SLI issues in 50% of the games out there, by all means, go for a quadsli solution. Personally I just replaced my GTX295 for a GTX580 because I was so sick and tired of fooling around with inspector creating profiles and testing SLI compatibility modes...

Sure the GTX295 gets good scores in vantage and other benchmarking tools but in real world gaming performance there's a pretty big gap.

I'ld also love to see you try forcing some AA with a SLI setup, that's always tons of fun...

Single fast GPU for real gaming, SLI/xfire setups for drooling over benchmark scores.
