My Phenom 2 x6 1075T : Shut down 2 cores for higher 24/7 overclock?

As above, My 1075T maxes out at 4.1Ghz with all 6 cores enabled.

If I turn off 2 cores I can get it to 4.5Ghz and on top of that it runs 20c coolers ( less cores = less heat? )

What should I do?

Depends on what your using the processor for, if its just gaming and web browsing, then leave them disabled, if your doing media encoding, rendering ect. then enable them.

hmmm that sounds like a good idea, I'll try that and see how far can my chip go with 2 disabled cores...
I can reach 4.2 @x6, maybe 4.5 - 4.6 @x4?
Good idea man!

What voltages and temps do you get at 4.2Ghz?

I'm interested in trying this, since those 2 last cores of mine dont get much use, but cant seem to find core disabling in my bios. Does my board even support it?

Does disabling the cores in system configuration boot tab in windows work?

It may go further since those last 2 cores are basically the gap between 95W and 125W [stock] TDP...
