Mirage are decent speakers. There may be other brands I like better, but they are certainly not bad by any means.

If you really want to know about audio, home theater, etc. then I recommend AV Science forums.

These are their new CF/CB speakers. I would say they are middle to low end in the broad spectrum of audio. Since Energy was bought out by Klipsch, their sound signature has changed a bit. These are brighter and more forward sounding. They still sound quite good from what I hear in the Energy Owners thread though over at the AVS forums. For this price, definitely worth it. I own the Energy RC series (Energy's last flagship before being bought) and I'm VERY happy with them. This is a good time to buy Energy. The Takes are always awesome for a budget build and sound great as well.

Same thing with Mirage, since they are a sister company of Energy. Nanosats are great for small rooms. The omni directional tweeters really filll up the room. I haven't heard the OS towers, but going off what I've heard from Mirage in the past, it's a pretty safe bet that they sound great. Mirage's sound stage is the widest (and tallest) of any speaker I've heard.

Btw, Mirage OMD's (flagship) are still over 50% off with free shipping at Vanns.com:

Energy RC50's are only $300 a piece. I would jump on these:

Energy speakers are great.

I remember going to a swapmeet one time around 7 years ago (I don't remember model #, at work right now) and guy was selling them for $50 for 2 bookshelfs and $50 for center. Since it was my first entertainment system during that time, I hooked them up and was quite surprised how great they were.

Funny thing is that I bought a 5.1 Sony sound system for nearly $400 and then returned it the following week because they were no where near the sound coming from the Energy speakers. Ended up going back to the old sound system that was put together years ago, even though they may not look aesthetically pleasing.
