XFX 6950 2gb or Sapphire 6950 2gb? - Page 2

XFX RMA sucks. I'd go with the sapphire or HIS

I have two Sapphire cards & they both have mediocre overclocks. 920/1375 & 920/1350. I would try XFX if you want to overclock it.

Hope OP went Sapphire.

XFX will screw you over if you ever have to use their warranty service. Happened to me, happened to friends, happened to many other OCNers. I'm not talking out my ass. To those that have had good experiences, good for you, you were lucky. Not to mention XFX is usually the first to grab an underpowered cooler and stick it on a cost-cut PCB that lacks features native to a design.

Friends don't let friends buy XFX.

edit:
Had a Sapphire X800GTO AGP back in the day. Card OC'd to all hell, and it took a Tt big typhoon landing on it to kill it, then was partially revived w/ baking almost 5 years later after being a wall ornament..

Yeah, the XFX package seems cooler and all but Sapphire definitely does provide a better all-around package. That's kind of why I purchased the Sapphire 6950 2GB a few hours ago wink.gif

I also have the same decision... I've been hearing about how xfx cards are not up to par when compared with other companies...are you guys referring to the reference design cards or the non-reference designs or all of them. I currently have a sapphire card and have absolutely no problems with it, but the xfx lifetime warranty looks so tempting!

yeah, i went with the xfx card.

reference cards are the same except for the sticker and warranty. the 2 year warranty is just way too short. 3 years would've helped. nowadays, video cards are lasting 2+ years each cycle.

plus, resale value for reference xfx cards are high because of the double lifetime warranty. the bothersome part is the lack of parts that come with the xfx card. it only comes with crossfire bridge.

and with the sapphire card, you need to ship the card international for rma.
