Pick up a used GTX 480 for around the price of a GTX 560 and enjoy your upgrade.

Other than that they are great. And with good performance improvements over the releases

a 6870 would also be a good sidegrade, as well as the 6950.

The 5870 can be found for pretty cheap prices theses days. I saw somebody that bought a brand new 2g E6 yesterday for 155bucks.

The price of used one goes low here on OCN too
correcting myself.

Where I said 6850, I meant 6950.

It's the best option IMO.
You can unclok it's shaders to a full 6970 card

pick eighter the 1gb or 2gb version, depending on the resolutions you play.

You cant unlock the 1GB versions only the 2GB. So your stuck with a 2GB

A 5870 will munch a 4870x2 in terms of performance. Even a 5850 should be a little faster - no?

They switch the crown depending on the game or benchmark

When a game is made to take advantage of dual dual GPUs the 4870x2 usually wins

HD6950 by far

A mild overclock and you can reach stock HD6970 performance for a good price.

Even if you dont overclock, the HD6950 is still best bang for buck.

Unlocking the shaders of a HD6950 only gives you a 3% increase clock-for-clock, so it's not really that important.
