Things to use a computer for besides gaming?

Thread Starter
Hey, i originally built my rig for gaming, but ive noticed games are beomcing rather boring. What are some other fun things to get into using a nice computer? I was thinking of some kind of side hobby, like getting into animation(like using flash or something? idek what other programs there are that do it lol), or movie editing stuff, or like programming or something.

Anyone have any reccomendations, or just feel free to post what you use your computer for most, and also if you have any reccomendations for things for me to get into, tell me what software you use, and if there is any free stuff i could use!

I don't know if many would consider it fun since you just set it up and leave it but you could always join a Folding team and help researchers out.

And while your computer is busy folding you can go do other stuff, like go out and skateboard, go swimming, work out, etc.

And the answer with most suggestions on this forum is:

..

..

Folding!

That's a great way to take advantage of a good computer.

Other than that, any computer nowdays can "feel" good if you stick an SSD to it and a dual core. I think most people would agree with me on this one

music production is pretty heavy on resources so a good computer is essential

You can turn it into a media PC if you add some additional storage. You've also got some decent tech so folding is always an option and rather addicting when you get into it

I already overclock and benchmark, and while its good fun for a little, i find unless you constantly buy new computer components, it kind of loses interest after a while
