Unless you are a risk taker and want to do it for fun, not worth it IMO if you already have a 6870. For the performance difference, if you already have a 6870, it is not worth losing money to get a 6950. It would be a different case if you had a 5770 or something like that. Even the 570 is not worth losing money over. If you look at reviews, FPS difference will be no more than 10.

x8/x8 is all you need for CF/SLi.

X16/X16 is only needed if you are using Quad Sli (2 Dual GPus) and only if these GPUs have been made in the past 1 1/2 years.

In most scenarios, yes. In others, no.

Just have a quick look at reviews, something you should always do before buying.

These cards are overclocked, in case you are interested in that.

yes, but in moments with big action or very fast movement, it could be a problem. also at cards like 6870 or 5870 (and up) it will be more then 10% fps drop. so its starting to getting serious here.

i just dont understand why motherboard producers are still doing such stupid things like two pcie slots and one of them is running at 4x only...

(at price of that motherboard is asrock with newer chipset and dual 8x mode)

sunnyFTW in your situation is best to go with best single card, or single dual gpu.
