Hello all. I'm looking for a nice pair of studio monitors for my sig rig as the Altec Lansings I've owned for years barely get any use since I'm usually listening with my Sony MDR-V6s. I want a nice, even, accurate response and I'm thinking the M-Audio AV40s will be a good choice. But any other suggestions would be welcome.

Also, what do you guys recommend in terms of setup? Should I get a mixer to put in between? Should I connect the monitors via SPDIF on my sound card? This will be for music listening of varying genres and ranging in quality from high bitrate MP3 to FLAC. I'll also use this to play video games and watch movies with my PS3. Thanks.
