Problems after power went out

Thread Starter
Hey all.

Last night sometime during a storm the power went out.

And since then, every time I started my PC it would load everything like normal. And then after 2 or 3 minutes it will freeze. And little dots show up here and there all over my screen.

Like pixels all over it.

It was doing fine in safemode. So I grabbed some of my files and reformatted.

I was adding stuff back now, everything was going smooth for 30 minutes or so. then out of nowhere. Bam, the computer froze and the little dots where showing up.

What the heck could of gone wrong, or what could it be?

Eeek, that sucks man! Motherboard possibly shorted during the power outage.

Does it give you any crash notification when it freezes? or does it just straight up freeze? Does it make a buzzing noise when it freezes?

From the sound of it one of your components might have gotten damaged somehow during the power outage. Just to make sure, try turning off your psu and disconnecting it... then reseat all your graphics cards, pci cards, etc. Then boot it up again and see if that works... come back here with an update. I DOUBT A POWER OUTAGE DAMAGED ANYTHING, unless it was followed by a slight electrical surge.

Do you have a UPS or a Surge Supressor?

and I don't mean a power bar.
