Personally, I would only install the Lan driver from the cd.
Windows 7 should do a great job of getting you the most up to date drivers for your system. As you stated, Asus creates cd's for series of motherboards, rarely for individual boards. Chances are they already have newer drivers on their asus support tek website.

I cannot guarantee this answer, but from personal experience with Asus mobos, I never install more than needed.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Forgot to mention....I noticed Asus added updated bios/drivers on the 22nd of Feb for certain mobo series...

Thanks for all the info. I just went with the LAN driver and the USB 3.0 driver. But for now I am using onboard sound, so should I also install the RealTek Audio Driver?

I will be getting a sound card in the future but for now just onboard works for my speaker setup
