Let's see: a "crapsole port" MW2 = works with nVsurround just fine after patch
a "PC exclusive" Quake live = doesn't work
I wrote them on the forums and my post didn't get a reply. GG I'm done with this PoS game and I'm sick of being forced to watch some crappy commercial every time.
Uhh 2 things
1: They support ANY ANY CUSTOM resolution out there. Just have to enter it through the console. Don't worry, I think the game remembers it so you don't have to re-enter it often
2: You wouldn't want that though. The game ENGINE is OLD and only does vert- resolution scaling. That means that even with the highest FOV setting, your vertical field of view would be extremely small with triples. Has nothing to do with being a crappy game which developers didn't implement things. The resolution scaling is part of the game ENGINE, which is like 11-13 years old, back from when widescreens weren't too regular and everybody was happy with vert-. They won't go dabbling around with the settings because it's just fine the way it is now...
The developers aren't at fault... When the engine was made, even wide screens were too rare to support like that.
I know that it'd be a simple fix to give the ability to up your FOV settings higher but that would impact some players heavily. It's just not reasonable to start supporting triples with a vert- game engineEdited by De-Zant - 2/28/11 at 10:46am
