Issues on Asus p5p43td - Page 2

i got the same board.
NB@ 1,2v should be enough it is for me and i got 4 sticks of RAM.
the Vtt is to calibrate the voltage (NB and CPU) so it`s just a reference voltage to measure against.

What you mean with "just a reference voltage to measure against?"

Qeustion: I have my fsb voltage on 1.2v. ->
What impact will i have if i chanve cpu vtt from 1.2v to 1.3v ?
That are the only cpu vtt options i have.

Also Yes, what We Gone said above is correct. Load line calibration counteracts vdroop in real time, you need to enable that if you want to get rid of large vdroops.

VTT is NOT the northbridge voltage.

On a P43 you probably do need more NB voltage to advance the FSB, it's not a great overclocking chipset. VTT is entirely different and not usually needed for Q6600 OC. Look in your BIOS settings and tell us what your NB voltage is set at.

If you really want to know what is limiting you, bump your CPU multiple DOWN to 6x and keep bumping the FSB until you fail, so you can see if it's mobo or CPU fail. If it's mobo fail, then try bumping NB voltage and see if you can get more FSB.

You can play with VTT but first you need to test your FSB stability and play with NB voltage with a lower CPU multiplier.

I just wrote a whole story got loged out when i wanted to post it frown.gif
This isn`t a voltage that is applied to CPU/NB/RAM it is an internal voltage to get an accurate vcore/NB value.
My FSB goes up to 441MHz, right now i use 437 to just reach 3,7GHz on my
q9950. So yes i got a ****ty mobo and can`t afford atm a new one but im nearly 900MHz over stock. NB is 1,2v with 4x4GB RAM (also overclocked) and works like a charm.
Only to get above 439MHz i need 1,25v on the NB.
sorry I`m really tired right now and don`t want to rewrite everything typer.gif
But good luck with you OC maybe some more thing come to my mind which could help.

/* With a multiplier of 9 and FSB@~420MHz which p43s do even without a golden chip you should reach at least 3,7GHz without problems */

Ahh now i get it finnaly.

I also read online that p5p43td has a "fsb wall betweet 420-460"

Thanks to my q6600 low standard fsb of 266 and multiplier of 9.
Even 9x420 is almost 3.8ghz, only vcore+heat is the battle now for me then tongue.gif.

@mr.eiht
I can seem to get my ram running @ 1600. Even with manual timings, xmp profile, or auto settings. Even higher ram voltage, it just wont boot. I do have the latest bios update.
Can you get it to work??

i am on a P45 board and my Q6600 VID is 1.3125 and i set everything to AUTO xcept RAM settings and CPUz says 1.408 under full load @ 3.4 GHZ(STABLE)...i can do 3.6 even boots at 3.8 run 3d mark vantage but its not 100% stable BSODs alot...though with little effort with manual settings and MCH voltage tweakings it can be 100% stable atleast @ 3.6 cuz @ 3.8 this beast needs something like NH-D14 or watercooling...but um not that xperienced in manual settings frown.gif

I guess you mean "can`t" get it to work!
Some screens of your bios setting would be nice.
@ what value is your "FSB strap to NB"?
I shouldn`t write this because people will flame that mobo even more biggrin.gif
BUT a key thing is the PCI-E frequency. I got a rock stable OC. NICE.
Then i wanted to choose the PCI-E value manualy. I tried from 100 to 112.
Nothing would post!!! I was i a rush so i couldn`t try the higher values switched back to [auto] and everything works fine. So if you don`t got that on [auto], try it!
To get the RAM @1600MHz you need have a FSB of 400MHz otherwise you can`t select it. If you have the FSB @400 try the "FSB strap to NB" also
@400MHz. Then is the question what RAM do you have, are the timings correct (!enter them manualy!) is the voltage correct(!enter it manualy!). There are more options that could help get these babys running like "MEM. OC Charger" , "DRAM write training" etc.
/* And to all you playerhater: With this board and the odd way it needs to be handled you never get bored! Solving all this wicked stuff is like a rubics cube, but in 3D! poke.gif */

Hello MR.EIHT

Im having a fight with this mobo and its winning. I cant seem to get a stable OC. No matter what I try..and try I have..some of the bios is completely alien....
and I have the latest bios.....

P5P43td/usb3
Gskill ddr3 1333 8 gigs total timings 8-8-8-24 have tried loosening them in oc.
Q9450 Intel Cpu
OCZ 1000w Psu
Ati 3870 x2 pcie video
V8 Coolmaster

I`ve run memtest on all sticks together and individually for hours.....all passed.
Id very much like to type to you or email .....to get this Mobo and chip Oc`d to at least 3.2 stable........I get it there and then after shut down for say over night and cold boot it Bsod`s or overclock failed.....where Im going wrong I have no Idea???? funny I can warm boot ok but when she sits for a few hours and cools off it wont boot....???? Weird.....Ghost in the Machine?

any help to overclock would be a kind gesture.....

Thank You
Or anyone who may advise............Seems to be a nice motherboard with lots of features but not much explaination even in the guide for the mobo......?

Thanks Again to anyone who can jump in here..............

Hey i have this motherboard too.

Just put:
pci express on 100mhz
fsb strap on 400mhz
I've also been using 1.25v on northbridge and + 0.05 on memory voltage.
I cant put memory on 1600mhz, no matter what settings..

But im stable @ 9x370mhz. This motherboard has fsb wall after 410-412mhz

Maybe you need +1 notch of vcore?
