About the p5p43td
It is actually very nice esp when everything else BSOD

sexy looks on the nb heatsink
Yes and whoe needs MosFET cooling? Think minimizes your chances to open up a "mobo burned" thread!

U know the prescott p4 chip? had it on 1.7v for 0.5 years
Didn`t know that... This shortcut should in no way be a discrimination or a insult or disrespect ()!
And yes nice post for being mashed up
It seems you always keep yourself @ a good vcore

I knew that

but back in the days, the reason for starting this topic,
whas to find out the the CPU VTT Voltage does on P43 Chipset?

Does anybody has any clue? And or used it?

I used both 1,2v and 1,3v. Right now i have it @1,3v cause it "fits" in better with the other setting. But i didn`t had any stability isues @1,2v. If you leave it @auto then this baby would have to find out what is best for you
Just don`t go over 1,3v if you change it manually (i am joking of course)
Edit: Sorry i am to lazy right now to search where i have allready explained it...
This is a reference voltage that is for internal measurement, funky !

Hello

I did some research on the VTT......yep a reference voltage.......I have stolen this from another site....not mine in any way shape or form................

Intels VID Range for the Q9450 is 0.85V – 1.3625V. 1.25 Volts is great. The only thing you must look out for is the VTT termination voltage.

Here is a quote from AnandTech
"Let this be a warning – do not go over 1.4V maximum for 24/7 use! We are certain that the high VTT voltage and extended testing was the cause of death, as we made no other major or obvious changes within the BIOS that could have instigated a failure. Obviously, we tried to boot the processor in a number of other motherboards without success before we decided to post our results up."

Here is the link
http://www.anandtech.com/weblog/showpost.aspx?i=428

A good rule of thumb is only go 10% over max voltage listed on the box. Each CPU is different. Even each batch is different. You may get lucky and get a great batch that will overclock to 3.4 on stock voltage, or you may have to bump it up to 1.3V to get 3.4.

Nice to know.........this applies to Mr.Eiht chip and mine as we are in the 45nm category........

As for the q6600 its a 65nm....so look it up Prescotter............you may just may get some more ocing stability........one can hope......

I will buy Asus again.....and again....and again.....and again.....and then die of old age......but I will be a Ghost in Prescotters computer......

Currently i have it on 1.2v. Never had the balls to put it on 1.3 after reading online
it could do damage.

My cpu Vid = 1.325v and max 1.5v
Currently i have the CPU VTT on 1.2v
Would 1.3v be better? (Only 1.2v and 1.3v are possible @ bios @ me)

Pre`you know you are still on this funny mobo. Not even itself knows what is best. 1,3v may help.
For the "harm"-issue
http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...t-cpu-vtt.html
Some guy putting his vtt@1,45v.
And if you want that things get ugly:
http://www.edgeofstability.com/index.html
I would try it with 1,3v it does no harm, you get some time after setting@1,3v to run prime and drink some beers / smoke that funny stuff (as you allways do )
I`ve heard nowhere that this would help RAM stability but i didn`t reas everything on the web and ---> yes we are still on this "frinky" mobo.
Soon you will be called Dr. PRE` for all that i-been-there-tweaked-that stuff

Hello all you smart asus mobo owners.....

@ prescotter.....I set mine to the 1.2500vtt as this mobo seems to set @ 1.2000vtt so upped it I think 5 notchs......I have not blown up yet......funny thing is I used to blue screen with vcore set to 1.3000......and vtt on auto.....guess what....I booted 3.5G vcore same 1.3000 but vtt is 1.2500 no freakin blue screen.....thats all I changed.......did not touch anything else......I`m Idle @ 1.368v in cpuz just what the world of ASUS Oc`ers says ..........it should be volts wise......I can cook the CPU @ 1.4vtt I know but Im no where near that @ 1.2500vtt...just a little kick.....did it for me........I hope but the true test will be a cold boot in the morning.........

So grow a pair.......look up your chip or rather I think you posted in the thread above your max vtt so dont overkill but give it a kick...like I did.......

It seems to have helped me ...... no Idea why but I will take it..........3.5G with 1.3000 vcore......1.2500 vtt......I hope Mr.Eiht has a reason suddenly why I got a higher Oc @ a lower vcore.....I used to have to go 1.4000volts or 1.5000volts to get it to boot @ 3.5 not since I change the reverence volt vtt.......

seems stable but need to run prime....but it usually craps out within seconds and It is working.....no freeze no bsod.....just goes.........this mobo......never ceases to amaze me....

Gore..........Have not blown up yet..........yet
