Issues on Asus p5p43td - Page 15

post #141 of 241

I was in some crazy testing mood.

[I can run 1600mhz in windows, but i get some errors, and eventually crash after some hours of stressing/medal of honor game] OLD

I've got to the windows boot screen 1700mhz ram, not stable enough.
First with 1700mhz i got it to post, now loading windows. Who knows what comes
Settings:400fsbstrap, 1600mhz ram divider, and fsb like 410mhz -> 412mhz
(After 410mhz fsb, you might need higher pci-ex. Try 101-102-103mhz all of them)

And with mem @ 1400ish, i got my cpu to boot windows, with crash.But the cpu was @ 3.8 or 3.9ghz
I just let vcore on 1.5, not enough but intels max safe. People on internet say even vcore of 1.52v to 1.55v is safe.
Soon i have a go for it. **** my temps. Even people with i7 chips, running hotter then me. While those chips cant handle that high temp.

for now still 3.4ghz @ 1400ram. Till i grow some serious ‘cojones’
or somebody sponsors me major cash

I`m not sure about your voltage change or rather your vcore volts....
I know you want to try it.......I personally think its your ram......
Mine is no better..........even on the QVL..........

I can`t get stable @ 3.5 no matter what I try....Prime95 freezes and stops working.......but we know the limits of the board or have danced with them...

I`m now @ 3.2 1600mhz.....and happy with prime95 passes........its quick enough for me........beats the heck out of my old machine.......I can go 3.4g stable but after standing back and pondering...I need this new build to work for at least a year.......and I don`t game...so what`s the point....I cant print faster....

Ram is the issue ...... and the fsb wall......but if you go 3.4ish and pass prime...your fast enough even to game.....np......How far can we push a hundred dollar board?????? before a critical melt down happens?

So give it a try Prescotter...vcore wise........hold your hand on the psu power cord.....and cross your figure's......I don`t want you to zap your q6600 its a great chip...better than mine for Oc`ing.......

I threw another 10 in the paypal account......like I said 1 year and I want bigger and better......

I don`t want to spend any more on this machine........It works and is well above stock.....I wanted 3.2 if you remember way way back in this thread and got it...and 1600mhz ram......remember.......!

I hope you get a higher clock Prescotter....just don`t blow up........used q6600 go for $150 around here.....so be carefull.

Let us know how it goes.......?????????????

@ Gore, what do you use your pc for? Video editing? 3d Modeling?
If just normall office use.. why OC lol!?

You only pumping 1.3ish volt on your cpu... I think like 1.5v what i have puts more stress on the mosfets/vrms...
On the long run, im aiming for 9x439=3951mhz
Even if i have to put 1.6v thruw it.

This mobo could go pretty far i geuss.

I'm thinking if my pc would get warmer in the summer. Now aimbient is like 23'C/24'C.
But in the summer i have a huge portable aircooler. It works on 230v. And can cool like
100m2, but my room is only 25m2.

Im thinkin about hooking up the aircooler, directly on my pc case.
Then i can put it real cool, and my room would still be normall COOL temprature,(other whise my room would be 10'C LOL!!!)
While i put the aircooler on FULL cooling.
(It has a builtin water-from-air remover system)

To all use p5p43td brothers ->

This, this... strange P43 board with 12-Phase power, but still just a 4-pin power plug, no mosfet cooling and... DDR3... What a wierd mobo...

It has 4pin, but also a 20+4pin plug(dont know if thats standard)

I geuss also, because of a newer kind of s775 motherboard with ddr3.
It has 12 power phases, because they advertise 400fsb OC on the box.
For that you need to OC, and with Core 2 Quad you need some decent amount of power phases.

Atleast my cpu TDP is around 170W says Aida64.
Could be right is you look up the normall TDP plus 40% OC on 1.47v

24 pin is standard. 8 Phase power is considered very good, and such mobos usually has a 8 pin power connector + that 24 Pin ATX.

I just use it for general use ..... internet....email.....basic stuff.....

I agree with the Air-conditioner.... not just a theory.......please look at the pic after what you said...I had to show you.....using it for about 3 years now....

What`s that 4 inch silver tube...Hmmmmm I wonder?

Great minds think alike......but its a fan killer.......I`m replacing 4 fans and I know why.......Canadian winters 20-29c below zero kills fans...but it cools like no water cooler ever ever could.......so your either go big water at 300 bucks or big air----cost 1 dryer hose.....you choose....I hook up to my Air-conditioner in the summer 12000btu built in de-humidifier....drips outside......I got about 3 years out of the fans.........in the case....but you will be replacing them sooner than their expected life span....they dont like it...but they a cheap and easy to replace......

Keep on going......Prescotter.........If I told you I putting together my wish list for next year......It starts with a 6core extreme edition......you guess? I always get what I want with patients and savings....I`m well on my way.......$$$.

This Prescotter is my first somewhat up to date computer......but Ive learned so much.....for the next build.....research the heck out of before I buy.....

Gore.........Geeez no cooling on my mofsets (may as well take my ball and go home) tragic

Doesnt that cold normall air you suck from outside, cause ''watered air" in your pc case?

Normally in the weekends, i game with my window open.(PC Close to window)
It used to idle @ -3'C lol!. No when i put the window open. Its 20'c Idle -> 60'c load.
I hope that with the aircooler, i get about 40C load in the summer

But did you buy your Q9450 recently? Then you might have researched a little bit better yes. Before i had this motherboard. I ran my q6600 in a ddr2 motherboard... with AGP 8x graphics card. An ati hd3850 512mb agp8x .

This!
I didn`t get it gore sry... If you got you FSB@400MHz the of course you can select 1600MHz in the memory options! Where is the big deal?
And like i wrote and Pre` stated above 3,5ish is rocking more than 3,2 and 1600ish for the RAM...
And your pic you posted (which i allready wrote) showed you RAM @876MHz times 2 = 1752MHz which is WICKED!!! So you backed down(!) to 1600MHz.
/* I got back home from @22.30 pm (normaly 18.30) maybe thats why i don`t get it... */
And Pre` this aircooler is needed for your funny growroom, not your PC!
And Pre` the clocks of your CPU should be high not the CPU itself cause of your funky smoke

Good in some picture mood:

My case
Outside:

Inside:

Dust Filters:

Case is only €50, inclusive 3x120mm fans
Gore&Eiht plz rate
(Since its the ''everything'' topic ^^)

Edit:
Might be usefull:

Code:
BSOD CODE LIST
0x101 = increase vcore
0x124 = increase/decrease QPI/VTT first, if not increase/decrease vcore...have to test to see which one it is
0x0A = unstable RAM/IMC, increase QPI first, if that doesn't work increase vcore
0x1A = Memory management error. It usually means a bad stick of Ram. Test with Memtest or whatever you prefer. Try raising your Ram voltage
0x1E = increase vcore
0x3B = increase vcore
0x3D = increase vcore
0xD1 = QPI/VTT, increase/decrease as necessary, can also be unstable Ram, raise Ram voltage
0x9C = QPI/VTT most likely, but increasing vcore has helped in some instances
0x50 = RAM timings/Frequency or uncore multi unstable, increase RAM voltage or adjust QPI/VTT, or lower uncore if you're higher than 2x
0x109 = Not enough or too Much memory voltage
0x116 = Low IOH (NB) voltage, GPU issue (most common when running multi-GPU/overclocking GPU)
0x7E = Corrupted OS file, possibly from overclocking. Run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r
