Issues on Asus p5p43td - Page 10

post #91 of 241
Well it works.....

So far so good....I have control of my CPU fan.

Ive read about the Noctua....Its the best folks are saying......and in the reviews that I`ve read......but over 100 bucks......pricey

I will stick to this old zallman....I will never ever reach 4gig with this board and chip...never ever ever.....If in 2-3 years I may upgrade all of It.....buy a I8 or I9 by that time...I think 6 core will be the norm in 2-3 years.....But remember Mr.Eiht.......I was running a old p4p800deluxe on a prescott 3.2 for 6ish years....not a hitch...not one...sold it fully working...so now Ive got this P5P with a heck of a good chip compared to a p4.....and a p4p asus Mobo.....quite a upgrade for little old me.....

Take a look at the thumbnails temps good and OC Better.....
I will take it slowly....just my speed.....

Gore (In life its always there never absent)....

@Mr.Eiht,

But thats the problem, my mobo always load all same default timings, even @ 533 all the way to 800Mhz.
But i think i can fix the problem now.
(You should live in my country, come visit me, smoke a little something something,
and get the good bios setting for my pc )

@Gore,
It might be smarter to invest in a very good cpu cooler.
There comes a point i geuss when more case fans wont do the trick anymore.

That a nice idea pre` ! Mainly the ganja part (hmm, some nice kali mist)
But on topic: This mobo changes the timings even if you type in manually?
That not funny!
Wicked work gore. Seems like you got temps under control. And where the heck you life?
In germany both Noctuas cost 80€ and you could use this thing in 10 years. That why i wrote about the 4ish GHz.
Anyway atm it looks like you got a massiv amount of cooler Crazy!
Ok lads it seems that we 3 are "the last samurais of p43er"
And i shouldn`t forget to say that: "I love the epicness of this thread!"
Much love,

Hi folks...

I read your posts.....Prescotter.....sure you can do only so much with case fans.....however the next case I get will be a panel of fans on the side of the case......sure you have seen them.......there all over the web but it proves a point......flow......a winky 2600rpm on the side panel and a 2600rpm on the back of the case just doesn't cut it....even with 100 dollar air cooler...the case temps soar....when overclocking on air...The cpu Hs/fan draws it away from your chip....then it sits in the case...ambient temps rise..........the air has to be also evacuated from the case......I learned a long time ago with a Prescott 3.2 it heated my 20foot by 14foot room....no kidding....

I luv the Idea of a full side panel with 4 large fans and do the back of the case up to with some large fans....even the front of the case.....it works....but 2 2600rpm fans just don`t move the air enough.....or fast enough....

You said buy a good Cpu fan.....why.....my lowest core temp is 28c Idle that Ive seen on my 3.4 Oc.......why buy a new one.....Highest on prime95 is 45c lower than others out there complaining about high temps much much lower....
I checked out the zalman site.....they still sell my model.....100% pure copper now they have the brackets for the I7 series...same as mine but I dont have the newer brackets.......so I cant justify buying a new cooler.....when I get these low temps......with 2 case fans that are on there way out........and still getting low on all cores.....while Ocing, buying another seems redundant like the V8 sitting in the box to my right.....another good cooler Ha Ha

@ Mr.Eiht.........Im in Canada Ontario....I have looked up your cooler.....yep
130 newegg.ca plus shipping 10.99 and dont forget the 30% tax...cheaper to send money to you and you buy it and ship it to me as a gift.......I bet it would save 40-50 bucks..........Case and Point....I found 6000rpm fans for 24.00 us ....if I buy 2 fans round it to 50...then ship say 10 then it hits canada customs....another 30 to 40 and then tax...........you do the math I didnt even bother.....2 fans for 50 amounts to y bother....Nice Noctua you have....wish I seen that before slamming over 80 bucks on the V8...I would have paid the diff......knowing what I know now.........you live you learn....but I really do have one of the most amazing looking paper weights Ive ever seen really nice to look at.I call it my V8 Black Rock in a box.....My Zalman has a wonderful patina on the copper fins I think its debbie travis approved....

Get back to me folks always fun reading the posts........

3.4 OC
Lowest core temp 28c Idle
Highest core temp 44c Load
Volt 1.368 Idle
Whats not to like............??

That really sad that in canada is so pricey(is that the right word?)
And sure you are right if the heat isn`t transported out of the case then there is no chance that a noctua would help. But anyway 44° is a wicked load temp so i agree with you no need to change anything...

Pre` you owe me an answer: Does this mobo allways change it back even that you set the timings manually?
Pre` you owe me a screenshot of your maxxmem bandwith...
/* http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...MaxxMEM2.shtml */
And since i`m in such a good mood:
Pre` make some pics of your BIOS setting!
/* You started this thread in hoped in here and now you have to life with my comments */
Have fun lads!

@eiht,

Its not that that the timing reset itself,
it just always hang on the 533mhz 7-7-7-20 timings, no matter what speed.
So i adjust it to 9-9-9-24, ( but i think, the ''sub''timings stay on 533 speed. seems logical)

Maxmem:

Toomorrow i make picture of my BIOS.

and mr eiht, if it werent cuz of u, i would allready pissed in ma pc

Lol don`t do that!
I really hope you got all these porgs running while benching the RAM, that is awfull.
When i do maxxmem i got EVERYTHING of.
Why don`t you change the subs manualy?
(Doesn`t matter that subs can`t be blamed for such a low value)
Anyway tomorrow (i mean late this day ) i get the FSB like you have it and look what my RAM is doing.
Till then: Go to the toilette if you need but stay away from you case
And thx to the admins for not banning us because of this epic thread!
