Asus GTX 570 Direct CU II edition - Page 49

Nice then....do you think this is safe? well 1.125mv is a lot in my opinion...
I don't think 1.2 V is safe. This GTX570 has a upgraded VRM's so I think 1.15 V is safe. You can probably use the safe limits for a GTX580 on this card since the VRM's are equal to the GTX580 and the GPU is the same architecture. For the GTX580 some people have been running their card at 1.2 V for some time, but just to be sure I think I'll settle for 1.15 V. From 1.175 V to 1.2 V I only gained 10 MHz (975 to 985) on the core anyway, so I think I have hit a wall.

Hello folks

Asking here as this is the best forum I known to answer this type of question.

I currently run one GTX570DCUII and suddenly got an urge to add another so I'll be running SLI

Main question: Will I be able to run a proper SLI setup with the hardware I have? Will my current CPU i7-860 running 4core 3,59Ghz be a bottleneck for 2 GPUs of that caliber? I will assume that my current PSU can handle the pressure of 2 GTX 570s.
Thoughts on this please as I'm closing in on a bit of unknown territory regarding the SLI and bottlenecking

Thanks :=)

The max OC i can do, stable, with my DCII is 900/2150 @ 1.125mv. max temps playing BF3 is 60ºc.

Played BF3 at ultra settings, doesnt crash...heaven 2.5 or 3dmark 11 doesnt crash either.

Well its not a ubber card (mine) for OC but its stable and that is all that matters!

That is a ok card. My is card stable at 900 core clock with 1.113 V. I did try 1000 MHz on the core with 1.213 V and it crashed halfway through heaven 2.5 benchmark. It only maxed 53 ºc in heaven though, so temps are not a problem. Maybe I need some more cold, like opening a window or something.

In regards to gpu bottleneck i cant FULLY answer that but your most likely fine, intels are great and even if you did it would be such a small loss of fps I wouldnt worry, 850 watts is ok as well if the power supply is of good quality. If its a cheapo 850watt psu it might have a peak rating of 850 so its normal output might be less than you need. You would need to check reviews of your power supply to see how it does. A lot of people say even a good 750watt could do it but I like the extra power a good 850 has on tap.

Thanks for the reply. I'll ask elsewhere about the PSU as I've read that it sucks and it's good enough on this board.

I'm thinking of buying one of these cards on Monday. They look so cool with the black backplate.

Are they good overclockers though? Someone earlier in the thread said they are just average GPUs with a nice cooler on them, but then other people say that the Asus cards are cherrypicked to be good overclockers. What do you guys think?

For me, it's either this card, the MSI TF II or III, or the EVGA SC 570.

I'm an msi and Asus fan after owning gtx500 cards from both but went with Asus on the gtx570 because the backplate honestly lol. I think both cards have equal build quality so it comes down to visual appeal, overclocking ability is luck of the draw. I have heard msi and Asus bin and don't bin so don't know what's true. Mine does good. I usually game at 880mhz core and 2200mhz memory, Max mine is stable at with 1125mv is 920mhz but some guys get 960+ lol

The cooler is great and temps at 1088-1100mv are low 50s with only 50% fan speed, pretty quiet at that speed

I've seen some reviews where the Asus DCII 570 breaks 1000MHz without too much trouble, and then others where it struggles to break 850MHz :s
