Problems Overclocking E8400 4Ghz - Page 2

Here is my settings using a Gigabyte GA-P35 DS3R and a Q9400. 100% stable at 3.6GHz

I had to up the Static tRead Value to 9 or 10 when using 8GB RAM. With 2x2GB it should run nicely at 8

If 500x8 doesn't work, try 500x7.5.

Let me know how it goes, there's no reason an E0 shouldn't hit 4.0 at or less than 1.4VCore if you have a board that can crank out 500+ FSB stable. I really want to see you get 4.0.
Thanks a lot for your help seems i made it a bit closer to 4ghz
I tried 500x8 with +0.2VTT but didnt work... 500x 7,5 worked fine though.
I also did as you sayed for 9x420 and it works fine with just 1.36vcore and everything else on stock.. (didnt try to lower the vcore more )..

Since i saw i had 9x420 stable i tried to get 9x425 .. Didnt work at first ( Blue screen just before the windows login screen) .. Then i Pushed a bit more the VTT to +0.1 still the same...
Finally i tried at VTT +0.2 and Vcore = 1.41 , MCH (NB) = +0.1 and "Static tRead value = 9" and Made it to boot into windows !
After i boot my computer was way too slow and when i tryed to open the CPU-Z i got the same Blue screen with last tries !
I was a bit scared to do VTT +0.3 since i dont know the stock value and i may go up to 1.5v which is too much if i've read right.

Any suggestions ?

Look in BIOS for the area that shows you current voltages etc and see what it says you have on the NB (MCH). I'd try going back to 1.38-ish on VCore, 1.25-1.26 ish on VTT and bump MCH so you're reading 1.35-1.37, see if it becomes more stable at 9x425 as you raise MCH voltage. Your board is tricky...

The thing is i dont see the NB voltages in Bios , neither FSB and the CPU Vcore is always show as 1.21 even if i got it up to 1.40 ! (got a screenshot to see what im saying-check down)
I am thinking about upgrading bios to F9 from my current F3 and aswell as Chipset drivers.. It might help what do u think ?
I made it boot in windows at 425x9 with the settings in the following Screenshots, but after i run prime95 i got a BSOD in a few seconds ..!
Voltage screenshot is for the settings in the Screenshots aswell .

O **** dude bump your memory multiple down to 2.0 for now.

See if you can get a copy of Everest. It'll show your NB volts.

Well i upgraded my bios to latest version and now i just hit 4.05Ghz at 449x9 very easily with 1.36Vcore and +0.1 NB and +0.1 FSB .. And seems pretty stable for the moment .. 25mins in prime95 and going..
I before this i was in 4.1ghz and ran prime95 for 5mins before i got a BSOD.. Here is a screenshot of that try..

Im actualy very very very happy at this speed But should i try to notch some voltages up to try for 4.2 or 4.3 ... Just wanna test my Mobos capabilities.. Seems that my outdated BIOS was holding me back ..
