That's fine if it's individual server rules, but there is no such thing as an AWP disabled in any major competition, world event, or league.

If you want balance, don't play on 16k servers.

Yep, sometimes it's a bit easy on there though, plus, I was unjustifiably banned and I really can't be bothered to appeal.

I'm not sure where you live, but if you live in the Washington area, play in [J.A.G]. It's a great server! Registry is awesome, admins are cool, minimal hackers.

And 3 of my friends and I just recently got ESEA accounts.

Yes, I still play 1.6 with no mods.

You're lucky its not as bad as CoD, bro. Walking around the map, claymored, wait 20 seconds to respawn, spawn, spawnkilled, wait 20 seconds to respawn, spawn, walk, naded/claymored, rinse and repeat.

The CoD engine is amazing (personally I think it's the best FPS engine) but the players are effin retarded. Claymores make me want to rip my brain out.

Oh, and not to mention people who are prone. I always think they're dead, so I overlook them. Then they shoot me.

I'd take the CS:S playerbase over the CoD playerbase any day, but I think the CoD engine is better personally..

Yeah after buying mw2 and bo I decided cod is not for me at all. Imho cod is all about camping, its obvious from the map design, they are literally packed with hiding spots everywhere for just the reason.

The awp was coded into the game and is legal in scrims and any other competitive play match. You may think the awp is unbalanced I might say the same thing about the deagle. But Instead I learn to play the game for what it is instead of butchering it by removing critical elements that make the game what it is.

I would love to hear people in a scrim cry about awp is OP so no one buy them. That attitude makes me want one just that much more.
The problem is you're trying to compare a pub to a scrim match.

Restricting AWPs in a pub isn't anything like restricting them in a scrim. In a scrim, generally you aren't going to have the time to get up to the point where 4 members on your team have AWPs. If you do, the other team got rolled anyways so it doesn't matter.

In a pub, there are more people and more rounds usually, so a lot more people can work their way up to the AWP easily. Since the AWP is one of the best guns, that turns the server into an AWP fest.

Basically, the AWP is balanced in CS by being expensive. Having long rounds and tons of people in pubs off-balances that, since it's easier to get a lot of cash. That makes the AWP overpowered, so it gets balanced by being restricted.

I do actually agree with you in part, however my argument is that it seems all pubs like what I am used to with scrim practice style play have completely disappeared. I cannot seem to find a place to play anymore where the game plays like it came off the shelf just as this thread is essentially about.

Well try OP's server out then I guess .

If you find a server that's close and get involved with the community you might be able to persuade them to change it. Most servers are tweaked for "average joe" since that's what gets them traffic.

OCN had a great stock CS source server, but we weren't able to get traffic on it so lost it.
