Anyone still play CS 1.6 without the mods? - Page 4

Move on to the Battlefield series. If you can overcome the fact that 1/2 of every game are camping snipers and that every three games has a blatant hacker, you'll enjoy it.

that is the site for my community, has classic server and pretty much every popular mod out. servers are usually packed during the days too.

but esea is really the best bet for good cs play.

Since BC2, I almost can't play CSS anymore. It's just bland! Sure, there will always be a spot in my heart for CSS and occasionally I'll visit the old server I played regularly at. But after a decade of playing CS, to now have the ability to play better, more graphically heightened games, I find I just go back to say hi to old friends. Less friends in BC2, but I've found a huge community playing PR. A community I do lots of battlefield training/practice with!

Even if a year passes, I will not say bye to CS, I'll just go visit.

Yeah it will be up probably indefinitely, it won't be as populated as in the past when everyone was either in college or high school and that the server was like rank 7 in the world before lol (according to serverspy back then). As the time went, we couldn't really play much because of the real world was starting. But now since everyone is settled and good to go, we figured we should start the server back up.

We aren't some uptight folks, we just pub a lot and are friendly pretty much. We aren't the 12 year olds, or the guy being a keyboard commando and talking hard lol.

Same here, When my clan ended, I went to CSS, got bored of it, and started to play other games. Until now I'm getting back into it since there are friends that play the game now.

I completely disagree with this statement.
The AWP is a very powerful gun and you can devastate with it if you know what youre doing, but it is also extremely limited. In good maps there are very few places where you can effectively AWP from, and even then there are always ways to take you out.

The people that complain about the AWP are the people that:
1) Dont know how to use the AWP effectively
2) Dont know where youre vulnerable to being AWP'ed

CS/CSS is not a n00b friendly game. there is a steep learning curve, and overall he game takes quite a bit of skill and strategy to play right.
