Inb4 everyone says this will be their next upgrade and then realizes that they don't need 1000W.

Efficiency numbers are pretty useless to be honest. I'd be more interested in its performance. 2% efficiency here or there won't matter but if it's a hunk of junk like the Silent Pro Gold range...

I agree with you, but with this small stepps come from 70% to over 90%.

Not longe time ago 75% were High End.

If they offer a 500-600W Platinum version matching the Kingwin unit, then I'd be interested. But I guess it'd be pricy, and I don't fancy spending a fortune on a new PSU right now. I got my current one on a 30% instant rebate, so I'm sticking with it.

Holy hell. Excellent!

If you think about it. 92-93% efficiency is really quite a feat. Remember back in the day when they were struggling with 70%? I'm not sure if current silicon technologies can permit too much higher.

Efficiency will be more determined by the manufacturer's PCB layout as that has a big to do with efficiency is switchmode supplies. Coils, capacitors etc. have to within a certain proximity of the transistors and each other for proper operation. If it's laid out like a pile of dung, then A.) it might not even work, and/or B.) the efficiency will take a hit and/or C.) Heat!.

Less heat the merrier also.

Well, good to see. I wonder if they could do the same with much lower wattages. Like <400...

It would be even higher with single-output power supplies, up to maybe 95-96% efficient. And the standby circuit being live during active use of the system hits efficiency too.
