Need advice of haf x internal wc

Thread Starter
I'm going to be doing a new build using the Haf x case. Sooner then later I wanna go with a true watercooling system. But I haven't many setups using this case. I wanna use either a 240 or 360 rad. Has anyone here used this case and pull it off internally without very many mods if so can u post ur setup please and thank u:D

a 360 will fit but you'll have issues fitting the thicker rads. the X sacrificed upper rad space to accomidate the xl-atx setup. good luck, tis a nice looking case wink.gif
post #3 of 13
In the top I know you can fit at least a 30MM thick radiator with fans hanging off of it. I'm going to try a 40MM thick radiator up there next week and I'll report back to you how it works.

I run with the GTS radiator in the top (360) and a 120 in the hard drive cage. Neither needed any modding, but it's not the most pretty looking set up. So I'm going to change it and see how it works out.

Just hope the 40MM thick radiator will fit up there.

GL thumb.gif, the RX series from xspc is out of the question (58mm) but the 932 and its other variants will swallow one wink.gif

Yeah there would be no way that would be able to fit up there.

Here's a pic of what it looks like. I'm currently not at my house and actually can't physically measure it so...

What do you mean? RX360 will fit just fine. http://www.overclock.net/intel-build-logs/910545-i7-950-haf-x-rx360-rasa.html. Many builds have used it at the top.

I don't know if I would say "just fine." That looks to tight for comfort from what you linked. With a fan actually pressing against a heat sink.

But alas I must admit, it does fit. Puts my mind to ease about my next install.

I have the hardwarelabs sr1 360 rad in mine. I believe it's 54mm thick and I have 25mm thick fans in push/pull. I still have about an inch or so til my ram. Should be no problem.

put an RX360 w/ push/pull in a 932, that barely fits.

edit: my 800D would have had <5mm of clearance using the RX360 and push/pull 25mm fans. I was too in the market and considered the X but its meant more as an air cooler, which it does quite well tbh, and then a water cooler.

double edit: checked out the link he's got no clearance, he's already in the mb area. wow, super tight fit on that one, nice that he pulled it off though thumb.gif
