i7930 CPU temps need advice

Thread Starter
I have the H50 Liquid Cooler and i7930 processor and im running into problems with my CPU temperatures I believe are running hotter than they should or either displaying incorrect temperature.

http://img820.imageshack.us/i/cpuf.png/

The cores run average 10-15 degrees cooler almost always unless im under heavy load of gaming with maxed everything settings then the CPU and the cores seem to meet up in temps. I was told maybe the CPU sensor is bad but idk.

Also I purposely have the programs im running in start menu so can see what the load is about for those temps and im new here so thx for the help in advance.

Are those your load temperatures your showing us in the picture? I don't use everest so I don't know how to read it properly, I use Realtemp and Coretemp. I'll give you an idea of what is normal with the h50/70 cooler and you can go from there. I had an i7 920 at 1.25vcore and it idled at 37, 35, 37, 33 degrees. And under 100% load, during a prime95 test, or OCCT, or intel burn test, the temps went to around 65 degrees max. (I have an H50 using 2 fans, push pull)

Is your CPU overclocked? If so what vcore are you using? If your cpu is at stock settings, your temperatures should not be going over 55 degrees under 100% load with that cooler.

typically under 80C is good. you can run these up to 100C but its up to you. 100C kills a lot faster than 60C

Nothing on my pc is overclocked. I know for a fact the core temps are not the only temps I should be worried about i have coretemp also and it gives me only coretemps but if my CPU temp reaches 80C which is my alert lvl for when my PC starts overheating my comp beeps and I dont know if its a bad sensor since the CPU temp is always like 10-15 degrees higher than my core temps. At idle i have like 40-45 core temps and my cpu at idle is like 60-70 and usually stays in that range even under load it hit 80 but was my cooler issue.

The CPU Temp is from a diode under the socket in the motherboard. So there's always a chance it can be inaccurate.

Sounds like the block/pump may have been applied wrong. Pull it out and make sure the TIM is correctly applied. Also ensure that both fans on the radiator are sucking air from the outside to the inside of the case. It is also critical to check if you have the pump plugged into a fan slot that slows down when idling, as pumps are not designed to run out of spec.
