Should the fan I put on my northbridge be orientated to blow air onto it or exhaust hot air away from it?
Blowing onto it.

Blow air onto it, it will run cooler that way.

This.

My temps dropped significantly when I put a fan blowing on it. It doesn't require anything drastic to cool, just some airflow. I am using a stock fan from my 341 (120mm) to blow on it at RPMs and it dropped at least 15 degrees.

Which program are you using to monitor your northbridge temperatures?

Also if you have a thin 60mm fan or so put it behind the mobo at the cpu cutout close to the nb. I did that for my Crosshair IV formula and it never went over 40c, most of the time the nb sat around 34c.

Any idea which reading is the northbridge? The temps may look high because I'm folding at the moment.

My Antec 1200 is not one of the newer models that have a CPU cutout.
I'll keep this in mind when my case meets the dremel again in the future
