Well then I guess you prefer Hat Simulators over First Person Shooters. I don't.
To prove how stupid TF2 has become and that it is truly more about customization and items than about actually SHOOTING THE ENEMY let me provide an example: I have been contacted on two occasions by random people that have added me to my friends list. At first I was all "Cool, some new friends" but then they were all "So, you have a soldier medal, want to trade?" This essentially sums up the TF2 of today, if one is really willing to go that much out of their way to get a DIGITAL item for a game that provides no gameplay changes or enhancements, clearly it is no longer about gameplay. Oh, and I never am giving up that medal for a few hats. That medal signifies a time when items in TF2 were few and hats weren't everywhere to make it all look like crap. Oh, and it was limited too.
Also, if you want to look unique, maybe you should play some RPGs and MMOs. FPS games should not be focused on RPG elements like customization, but rather making the experience a seemingly realistic portrayal of war. So in the case of BF3 (ideally) the weapons should be faction limited and be weapons that are fielded by both sides. I hope that they won't add in too many prototypes or weapons that are not even in use by the average soldier.Edited by Z Naught - 2/26/11 at 12:59pm
